[01-Nov-2007] New Pricing

Postby lackattack on Thu Nov 01, 2007 2:01 pm

Usually our announcements are full of great news, but I can't really call this good news. Effective December 1, 2007 the price of Premium Membership (12 months) will increase from $20 to $25. That's in USD, taxes included.

Why? Conquer Club is a Canadian website that charges in US dollars. Since we launched Premium Membership back on Feb 23, 2006 the US dollar has dropped roughly 20% compared to the Canadian dollar. That's a big hit to take! In fact, many Canadian businesses that sell in USD are raising their prices to keep afloat. This price hike should go a long way towards continuing server upgrades to speed the site up, support our growing community and staffing to give you an even better level of service!

At least we're giving you a full month's warning to get in at the lower price. Feel free to sign up now at the cheaper rate or top off your existing memberships early to save a few bucks. Any top ups will be added on to the end of your existing membership.

Thanks for understanding.

And a BIG thanks to all of our Premium members - if it weren't for you guys, Conquer Club simply wouldn't exist!

Cheers,
lackattack

Even $25 for a year is still a more then reasonable price for a full year membership. The issue lackattack brings up with the US dollar is a very relevant thing and has effected many Canadian business dealing with US currency. It's only to be expected that prices increase to compete with inflation/deflation.

It's 5 more bucks, so don't go to McDonalds for one day to make up the difference...

Lack you could charge $100 a year easy and it would still be a bargain :D

An extra $5 a year works out to 10 cents per week, not a big extra cost really. Keep up the great work!

Well with the new referral program it should be easy for us to get more people to this site. In return, more premium for us.

Love the site, keep up the good work!

Hmm, its still cheaper than what I paid in June, I'm much, much better off than I was in June, but I still don't like it. I don't know, I think its the Scrooge factor.
