It is. The question was, 'What do you think [of Green Day]?' So we can say what we think, for example if we think Green Day sucks, we can say it. Personally I find some of the songs quite good, but the whole look/sound seems too... fabricated... for my liking.

Well, what I meant was like nobody can say that they actually suck, I mean people can like them or hate them, but there's no way to say that they themselves suck because everyone has a different opinion. Everyone is different and I don't see why people can't respect each other for their differences. Yeah, I think they've sold out too, but I don't hate them or anything.

That's why I hate post-modernism.

In my eyes, they posess neither the spirit of punk (which coincidentally is totally dismantled in the term pop-punk) nor the musical talent required in other genres. Their songs are repetitive and unoriginal. The one thing I will give them credit for is some good hooks.

I've seen green day live, and once had 2 of their albums, but they're not good. They're trying to be an acessible form of punk, and in doing so lose any element of punkishness. So I guess your right in saying they're not punk, they're just another mindless commercialised pop group.

And no I'm not trying to be punk, I don't really listen to punk music to be honest, aside from a little Clash here and there, but I do admire the punk subculture, and what it once stood for.
