Trying out an idea, it's probably already been done, maybe not exactly how I'm planning, but the basic idea has been done.... check out the Endurance Tournament, the same concept with some modifications.... I'm doing this more for testing out the points system I have come up with and to see if it fits with the number of games and other factors....
First off, I'm looking for players, 16 at least, if there's enough, 25 or even 36 players will work, with at least 4 reserves, but the tournament can be modified so losing a player or two early and not having reserves won't affect too much....
so, 16 players at least, 4 reserves....
the players will be put into groups at random, 4 groups of 4 players, 5 groups of 5, 6 groups of 6 depending on the number of players.... for th ebasic idea, I'll use 16 players.... numbered 1-16....
Group A (Players 1-4)
Group B (Players 5-8 )
Group C (Players 9-12)
Group D (Players 13-16)
each group plays 3 games, singles, standard, sequential, flat rate, chained.... Haven't decided on a map yet, but it'll probably be the normal one just for testing.... you get points based on games.... for winning the game, you get a set number of points, all others get a number of points for the order they were eliminated.... first round with 16 players, the winner gets 3 points, the last one eliminated gets 2 points, the one before that gets 1 point and the first eliminated gets 0 points.... apart from this, you get other points, 1 point for eliminating a player, but only one point.... you get another if you eliminate the most players a game in your group as well as the most eliminated for that round out of all the players....
a side note on the points for survival in the game.... if a player eliminates more than one player on the same turn, both of those players get the points the first eliminated player would get.... and the points for the next players would be reduced by one.... example, if the first two players are eliminated the same turn by the same player they both would get 0 points, the next player would get 1 point and the winner would get 2 points....
after all groups are finished with their 3 games, the lowest scored player in each group is dropped from the tournament.... the remaining players are ranked from highest score to lowest score.... the 4 highest ranked are now Group A, the next 4 are Group B and the last 4 are Group C.... they play 3 games, with the same scoring system.... the final scores are added to the scores from round 1, the lowest in each group is dropped and the remaining players are ranked again.... The 3 highest are Group A, the next 3 Group B, the last 3 Group C.... they play 3 games again, with the winner getting 2 points instead of 3 points.... the cumulative score is used again to drop the lowest player from each group.... Rank scores and the 3 highest are Group A, the last 3 are Group B.... 3 games, lowest cumulative score from each group is dropped and the remaining 4 players are in one group and play 3 games.... There will be two winners, Cumulative score and Final Round Highest score.... I don't see which one would be considered the better win....
Any questions? ask them here or send PM.... I'm gonna open this up to the first 16 players and 4 reserves, but if there's enough interest, I'll bump it up to 25 players and 5 reserves....
