You guys are no fun.

Ocho Cinqo (85) + Kobe (81) + Elway (2) = 168
Divide by Montana (4) = 42
Add Gehrig (2130) and Wilt (20,000) = 22,172

I award the next question to neph, since he was the closest soonest, and with the least amount of whining.

Does 22172 have some significance to anything?

It would be funny if it did, wouldn't it? Damn, I should've done a bit of research and found some NBA player whose career point total was 22172...

And GK, you get the white ribbon, for having surrendered so easily. :D

okay, nothing too creative here, gotta do something w/ baseball playoffs......

the phillies were the beneficiaries of the NY mets historic collapse. name the last year that the phillies won the NL pennant and the World Series, respectively (not the same year).

bonus if you know historic numbers about the Mets collapse....

double bonus if you predict that the Braves will win the division next year

1993 and 1980, respectively.

The Mets are the only team to lose a 7 game lead with 17 games left to play. They are also the only team in baseball to feature an openly gay head coach.

The Braves can win the division next year if A) they get something from Hampton, B) Francouer makes The Leap, C) they take the money they would've been paying Andruw Jones and spend it on more pitching, and D) Jimmy Rollins gets hit by a bus. I dunno, neph, that's a lot of ifs.

rite on the one's that count.....willie randolph might be gay but i'd put money on him whupping your ass, incan.....and you get a zero on the double bonus, frenchy did just fine this year, one could easily say he made already made the leap......hell mate, one more starting pitcher is all we need....and a new CF of course

Brewers will win the Central next year if their starting pitching improves, Bill Hall plays like he's getting payed, and we don't have so many errors(I think it's funny that it took a 300 million Dollar Payroll to beat them)

Francouer's fine, but he hasn't quite gotten into the 'short list of the best outfielders in the NL' category just yet, and I think he's going to have to in the very near future for the Braves to win what looks to be a damn strong division next year. At least they've got Tex...

And I could kick the crap out of Willie with both hands tied behind my back and my legs amputated. All I have to do is say, "Look, over there! Reyes isn't running out a ground ball!" and watch Willie's head pop. Done and done.

New question:
The 1993 Phillies were quite an eclectic team. Among the many scruffy bastards that played for that pennant winning squad were an Alleged Steroid User, a Future Crappy Baseball Analyst, a Future Blogger, a Completely Whacked-Out Nutjob, and the Wild Thing.
The question? Put a name to three of these five guys. Bonus for all five.

All I got is Jon Kruk. Of course I was only 12 then, and a Detroit fan. (though I remember they lost to the Blue Jays)

Ok...first question. Might as well make it football.

Who was the leading goal scorer of season 1 of the MLS, with which team and with how many?

Bonus point: How many teams were there?
Double Bonus: Name all the teams that exist in MLS as of this year.

way too young, he was only like 14 when season 1 was going on.

I'll say Cobi Jones, Jaime Moreno, Roy Lassiter, or Eric Wynalda?

Is that that daft MNF catch from a couple years ago in your avvy, cheese? I thought al michaels was going to have a bloody heart attack.

As far as the existing question, I know basically nothing about MLS, save for the unrelenting Beckham love-fest that I and my fellow Angelenos have been subjected to over the last 6 months or so.

I'd hit Posh, tho. Like the fist of an angry god.

Incorrect.

HINT: It was over 25 goals, a very rare happening in MLS history.
