Dont take it seriously, wisse. What Im saying is:

- we have an Europe map already.
- we have a RR map already.

I dont think a Europe RR is necessary. In fact, the RR idea doesnt look a idea soooo good to motivate it... this in my opinion. I dont think we need it to be just one more map... but looks like I came too late to cut it in its root.

Soooooo... quench it!!! We need more maps.

Just dont forget the Brazil RR, Cairns, because I demand at least 10 Brazil maps and one more is always appreciated.

Sorry Marvaddin, Brazil will have to be lumped in with South America (at the end of the line LOL). My research tells me Marvaddin, that railways are not so BIG in Brazil, or South America for that matter, so it will be an interesting map when done...after Australia, Asia, Africa....

yes wisse, i missed your post deliberately because i wanted to concentrate on other issues, like the colours that i have just fixed after getting some heavy issues in the foundry settled

Wisse wrote:your last version is of bad quality, (saved to low quality?) so i looked at the previus one

is this version 19 any better?

*the text "bonuses is not easy to read

Yes i have that to attend to on my list.

*you have 2 times explained that stations that are dissected by rials cannot attack eachoter

yes i will amend that somehow in the next version.

*the circles are not all the same (in the legend) some are thicker than others some are higher

yes, one of them was a different size, fixed in the next version

*i shoudn't make the color lables where the text of the station is a bit transpart if a were you because it looks strange when you see the rails behind it

that transparency has been removed from behind the station code t4ext.

*on some placs the rails look blurred i.e. between LUS and VIE
*on some places the rails cross strange i.e. east of VEN and east of BGD

those line issues are being handled by WM...i will ensure they are attended to.

ing with the paris station has some few things i will explain later with a picture

Do tell. I have changed some things on the station, but maybe you have more.

Watch for the next update i guess.

Version 20 Small

WM has kindly coloured all the lines so that everyone can see this, although some sleepers are not complete.

* 2nd phrase about attacking across rail lilnes has been removed.

* I may change one or two lines colours around to that Italy and Rail Iberia are so closely coloured together.

Fix the clocks so they are all at least consistent with the timezones and I'm sold.

I can now easily distinguish colours on both large and small so I am pleased.

Also, the KLN station colour arrangement makes it look like candy. That's not important. I just thought it was cool.

I like the railways maps.
But compared to the US map this one can be improved a bit more:

1) Europe landmass is very, very dark..and the background darkness doesn't help distinguishing the two; so please brighten the background (now brownish) colour and give the europe landmass some black/relief look as in the USA map.

2) You need to explain the stations split between two tracksystems only once; By indicating that the name of the station inbetween tracks means a divider (or..in better and concise english..), and the name placed below means all tracks can attack eachother.

3) The tracks and stations looks like a spaghetti mix now. A bit less is better. Or look at where ther is space and where not on the map for a station.
Then pick one city.
Every city of some sort has a station.
Example:
For instance Rome is now in the sea because you want Florence on the map.
But if you'd delete florence and place MILAN (!!) in stead, then the blocks
would fit on the landmass (besides Milan is a more important hub).
Equally so you can delete PTB in Spain.
And if you have Marseille then you must delete Nice (too close cities).

By the way, what is LUS ? Luxemburg station ?..then make it LUX.

4) If you decide to include TGV and so on. Then do away with the 19th century imagery (Top lining, and the steamtrain flying scotssman).
Make it modern.

thnx

Since Railways were developed in Europe...more specifically Britain, It_oddball, I thought the "Vintage" look was most appropriate.

LUS stands for Luasanne in Switzerland.

I don't think that deleting stations is going to do anything for the map.

Europe is a very different rail system from America and this map certainly conveys that with it's spaghetti like convolution of rails and systems.

More than anything, this map not only represents some lines from current day Rail Systems but also adds the ambience of yesteryear with the Orient Express and Nord Express journeys. I am sure any of you that are old enough will remember those - NOT

I think there is a good representation of services throughout the years here.

It is a busy map, and there are lots of things happening, but then what else does one expect from me.

What do others think on this modern vs Vintage theme....so far IT_oddball is the only person to say "change it to modern"...a change that was dissed in USA RAIL?

Is LON connected to IRN? Just wanted to know.

Otherwise I really like this map.

Yes, via Paris...but through two different services. Thanks for your comments. :)

Perhaps i need to do something about the size of the Paris station with all those lines going in there.

Version 20 Update as Above

Sorry, but i saved this updated over the previous update, hence this is still version 20 update.

I have changed the station colour between Italy and Scandanavia so there is more contrast i the south against the RIB service line. WM still has the change the line colours around.

The service lines on the board have also been changed around to reflect a swoop of colours that zigzag left to right and down across the board. Hopefully this will enable players to follow the colours better.

That's my issue on the USA Rail map. It can be hard to figure out which station in Chicago is connected to which rail line because they come in at different angles than the position of the army circle. I know this is unavoidable because of the size restrictions on the army circles, but maybe it can be somewhat avoided in Rail Europe.

Night Strike...appreciate your post. :)
I have tried several different configurations for the PAR station, but as yet to no availe. I don't know if i can re-configure this, but if i do find a solution, i'll surely post one in this topic.

Looking good. Just a detail, the Swiss city is Lausanne, not Luasanne. So LAU or LAS

Version 21 Update

WM has kindly finished the lines for the small map...thank you WM.

What's changed on this version:

1. LUS changed to LAU - Lausanne (Switzerland)

2. Clocks adjusted

3. Italy has new line colours as does Scandanavian Rail.
