things don't get quenched when they still have issues. Up until just now, the XML was not done and there were questions as to whether other changes were going to be made. quenching couldn't occur with these issues about.

also if you read RJBeals' post just a couple up the page you would know why things slowed down.

Well, then lets help him get the final few touches done and get this map in play!

Wait, who did the XML? Don't people get other people to do them?

I believe that Coleman patched up the XML for him just recently.

the only question for me is about the questions Lupo brought up.

I might be mistaken but from memory it seems like he says quite a few names are in the wrong places, but hasn't really specifically said where they are wrong and where they should go. So, do we care to wait for this? Do we care about the inaccuracies at all?

He also had said something about symbols for the cities, but I believe this is really just a preference thing and does not matter to me.

I think everything is fine, but the decision has to be made whether these 'problems' need to be fixed.

He did all the xml, I just brought it up to today's standards. This map has been in development for a long time. Since he last finished the xml the new term for country is territory and there are new features that made his Citta Bonus easier to code. I touched nothing else.

I'm not sure I can identify the problems edbeard is eluding to. The symbol idea wasn't a very good one imho so I'm glad he didn't try to do it. As far as inaccuracies, I wouldn't know as I'm not from Italy. If someone does know they should show up and point them out, and soon, because I don't see any problems with this map or its xml as it is right now.

Regarding the inaccuracies, I think most of the names have been discussed at length. If some suggestions/fixes come up later, we can attend to them properly.

The Final Forge period has concluded for the Italy Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for live play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!

Six if we handle France fast enough, lol. It's most likely next regardless.

EDIT: BAH! Fast posted by gimil. My life is meaningless.

well i posted the tests but it seems andy is gone. :?

it could have been a new record. if i remember correctly the most maps quenched at the same time were 5 and it happened when AoM was quenched.

Wow - now this is an accomplishment. Never thought it would happen. I hope it plays okay - it's going to be weird to actually play a game on it after like 9 months in creation. :o

I may have to start a new one now....

Thanks all - I hope Ruben and Lupo will play me soon!

Naa... That was pointless.

A few months ago, I started a Charleston, SC map, but fizzled out on that also. I never even started a thread for it. I'll piggy back it to this post just so it doesn't disappear with only my eyes ever seeing it. Charleston is basically a lot of islands, so there would have been lots of bridges. It worked well for territories also. I kinda liked how downtown looked w/ the grid lines (yellow center/top). I may pick this back up... Until then I'll gloat on Italia - My grandmother would be proud!

congratz, ur map looks really well done.

and i really hope to see ur fantasy map and ur charleston map in their own threads, making their journey through the foundry. personally i feel its a waste of 2 perfectly good maps if they dont go to quench.
