Sorry, it just really grinds my gears when people get all 'no cards is the purest form of the game.' People who say there's no strategy to escalating tend to be bad at escalating.
Thank you Incandenza. That really needed to be said. It also annoys me when people say that escalating is all about luck. In my opinion, six player escalating involves the most skill out of all the other game types.

the idea of playing 2000+ games is great, but i'm sick of all of the 1600-1900 point players joining and subsequently winning these games.

Borderline people are one thing. Scores can fluctuate, often wildly, and a person could have 2000 points when they join a game, only 1900 when the game starts, and only 1600 when the games finally over. Such a person should probably develop a nice healthy drinking problem. :D

But it goes against the spirit of this whole enterprise when people join games when they're substantially below 2000. That being said, there's not much that can be done. This thread, despite the imperfections, is still one of the best places to get a game on this site.

One easy way to cure that is just personally pm players. Anyhoo- I've started 11 games...........all 6-man sequential escalating. It's prolly easier if you guys just do a search on my name.
