What about using the same style applied to the arrows on the bunkers and artillery?

that didnt work as red and white dont contrast well for text. but i added a black stroke to the numbers to make them pop more.

mibi...i hate to be a pain in the proverbial....but i still can't read the red numbers, and if i can't read them i can't play this map.
R the numbers on the large map smaller than on the small map or R they the same size? Shouldn't they be larger?

cairns. Im not sure what to say to you. The numbers are perfectly legible. My 7 year old step son just rattled them all off with out hesitation. If you really can't read them you might want to check to see if your monitor or something else.

And the numbers are the same size. I kept the original numbers from the large map and put them into the small map.

Fair enough....i will have to get my eyes and monitor updated if i want to play this map.

Maybe if you spin around real fast, and turn on strobe lights that will make the map seem clearer and easier to read. Or it will give you a seizure.

Is it just the red numbers you have trouble with? What about the beach and the ships?

The beach numbers are fine. The red writing above in the "destructions" are fine. the red numbers are just difficult to decipher...i end up taking a guess at what they are because they are not clear enough, and for clarity sake, one shouldn't have to do that. As I said, sorry to be a pain, but if i'm in the minority then i accept everyone else's decision. Perhaps it is simply the font.

On the large map, the numbers in the left hand artillery position are dribbling over the lines in a rather unattractive way.

Also, what are the full names for the artillery position territories? "916th German Grenadiers Artillery 3" is kind of a mouthful. Would it make sense to give the artillery positions and bunkers their own nicknames?

In the xml I have it as: 916th Artillery 3, which is what you would see in the drop down.

It's not supposed to be a copy of the military version like your iwo jima, its supposed to be the 'pill form' version that's easy and pleasant to look at (not saying your iwo jima map isn't).

if this is a military map why are you using a comic sans type font. maybe a more military oriented font would give the map a more accurate military feel.
