risk is a game for adults not for kids. to be frank i've seen some pretty scary stuff around the a table with a risk map on it. friends forgetting their relationship and throwing some pretty harsh words just because they were attacked, fowl language, etc. fortunately all was forgotten when the game ended but trust me things can get pretty heated sometimes.cairnswk wrote: there is child in all of us, otherwise we wouldn't be playing RISK.

In Australia, we have what we call the tall poppy syndrome...you might have heard of it. It is a very good teacher for those who want to move forward in the face of adversity. A lot of bloody FAITH helps also.

Funny that Coruscant is a name of a world in Star Wars and obviously would copy-right too.bryguy wrote:it wouldnt need to be named star wars, it could be like a battle for coruscant or something

It's also in the books. Again, Star Wars fan-fiction would be copy-righted. Coruscant would be in the fan-fiction, like all the other planets/ships/characters, so they will be copy-righted.bryguy wrote:Just because its in the movie doesnt make it copyrighted

Changing the name of the title doesnt matter. Unless you make a starwars map that doesnt use any planetnames, character names, disigns of thiers, storylines, or prety much anything to do with starwars than you can do it but then it isnt really much a starwars map is it? All you need to do is email Lucas arts or what ever company holds the copyright to starwas and ask for permission to use it.

If i wanted to make a spider-man map tech name "Spider-Man" is protected under copyright. But "Spider Man" isn't you just have to be careful fo how you go about such a thing.
What do you know about map making, bitch?

Still, owners of copyrights like that are usually easy to give permission to use their copyrighted names etc.
The real problem in my opinion is how you are going to make a Risk board with so little know about the star wars galaxy. I mean, Middle Earth was pretty much ready made, it only had to be divided into appropriate territories and there were enough names for all the regions because Tolkien made it himself. I don't know much about the whole star wars buisness but how would you name enough planets(territories) and regions to create a decent map?
