This tournament will feature 8 teams, each playing as one of 8 different Disney Heroes. I realize that the characters I have chosen are a bit of a stretch, but please bear with me for the sake of the tournament.
Each triples team needs to appoint a team captain. I will be sending the game numbers and passwords to the team captain only in an effort to cut down on the number of PM's I need to send out at any one time. The team captain will be responsible for making sure that their teammates join each game in a timely manner. Each team will have 48 hours from the time their captain receives a PM to join the game. If they have not joined the game, they will forfeit the game.
The maps for this tournament will be randomly selected from this list:
Classic
World 2.1
Middle Earth
Tamriel
San Francisco
Europe.
You will know that map when your game numbers are sent. You might play the same map three times in a row or a different map each time. Games will be sent out 2 at a time every 3 or 4 days until all games for a specific round have been started. Each round will need to finish completely before the next round may begin. The rounds will be broken down as follows:
Round 1 (7 Games Total per Team): Each team will play the other 7 teams in the tournament once on a randomly assigned map. At the completion of all the games, the bottom two teams in the standings will be dropped from the tournament and the remaining 6 will continue to the next round. Rankings will be determined be each team's win-loss record.
Round 2 (10 Games Total per Team): The remaining 6 teams will play each other twice on randomly assigned maps with their wins and losses being combined with their win-loss record from the first round. At the completion of all of the second round games, the bottom two teams in the standings will once again be dropped from the tournament while the remaining 4 teams move on to the third round.
Round 3 (9 Total Games per Team): Each of the 4 teams will play each other three times on randomly assigned maps. Win-loss records will be reset for this round, and only games from this round will count towards advancement to the tournament finals. At the completion of all the third round games only the top two teams will advance to the finals based on win-loss record.
Finals: The top two teams will face each other in a best of 5 series using randomly assigned maps. The winner of this best-of-5 series will be declared the tournament champion.
