an auto advance button is an even worse suggestion than the check box, TOO MANY BUTTONS CLUTTERING UP THE GAME SCREEN, and people already make mistakes when it comes to auto attack and end attack, with this addition it would triple the amount of mistakes.Burning Star IV wrote:To solve the mistake factor, how about an "Auto-attack and Auto-Advance" button? This way, you would always know whether or not you're going to advance all of your armies.
Advance attack button?

Time to retire this much loved sig of mine with a new clan.
So i'm sitting in Argentina and I want to destroy all that lives in Peru. I select Argentina to attack from, peru as my attack to and check my auto advance button and then click auto attack. Bada bing, bada boom I own half of south america.
If I don't want to move all my armies I don't check the box. Sounds like a great idea. To the guy that posted above me, a check box doesn't take up that much screen space. I know you're responding to someone else, but two buttons wouldn't work anyways, one would have to be a check box. If you had an "auto-attack and auto-advance" button you'd still have to have a button for just auto-attack and yes, that would take up way too much room.

So you're totally discounting the fact that it would cut down on bandwidth for those that would use it?jako wrote:like i said before horrible idea, this cehck box would be redundant. u stil have to click the god damn check box to turn it on each turn which is the same as the advance button. the game page does not need anymore stuff cluttering it up.
I'll meet you halfway. This does open up the possibility for more mistakes. I'd be just as easy to hit "Advance" without changing your army count (since it's defaulted to max), but this addtion would two times a player could make the same mistake.

I've been thinking a lot about this idea, and heres my suggestion. I know lack doesn't like to clutter the game interface, but what about instead of a checkbox, an auto-attack & advance button. We have attack, auto-attack, and then auto-attack and advance. I realize this would cause mistakes to many people who accidentally click it, but hey, thats my idea.

Sure, I'll comment. I already suggested the "auto-advance" checkbox in this topic: Auto attack limits (choose number of attacks) *To-Do*. Basically attack and advance options can be tucked away and revealed by clicking an [options] link next to the Attack button. If you don't touch the options, everything works normally.
The advantage with status quo is that players aren't bothered with an advance decision until they win the battle.

Re: Auto-Advance Button
good ideatreefiddy wrote:Suggestion Idea: Add a button similar to the "Team Note" or "Note to Self" that says "Auto-Advance All"
Specifics: When using either Attack or Auto-Attack, with this button checked, it will automatically advance all your armies upon a successful takeover. Button will be defaulted to "off"
Why it is needed: When being used, it would be one less page load per territory. This would speed up the game just a tad, and lower the overall bandwidth usage for the site since it would mean for less page loads when people use it.
Example:
I check the "Auto-Advance" button, then click Auto-Attack in a 15v1 situation from Brazil to North Africa. I lose 3 times (as normal), then win. Now I have 11 armies in the North Africa, and only 1 in Brazil.
i always use auto attack and would use any other auto featue i could find. I think auto attack should not stop at 3 armies - its should keep attacking untill you have one army or untill you take the state.
Rocketry
Auto Attack and Advance all' button
Best part of a game is to attack and keep attacking until a opponent is eliminated or a game is won.
Most of the time you drag all your armies with you in the process.
Now you need to 'decide' after every win how many armies you want to advance.
A auto attack and advance all button would be less bureaucratic.
I can do without, but would use it if possible
thanks,

This would add an extra button to the interface to safe users two clicks. Doesn't really seem worth the space to me. Better to keep the interface as simple as possible.
