Dunno if this is suggested before... way way in the past or just recently, but i'd like to know the general consensus here of a "last online" quote on someones profile!
I'm one of probably many tourney organisers and it's sometimes horribly frustrating to see people willingly or unwillingly not joining the assigned game... i'd like to know beforehand if they've been online or not in the last couple of days/weeks so i can decide if they're participating in the next round or not (mostly cuz i'm tired of other tourney participants complaining about others that they're not joining the game)
So... is there a possibility to implement such a thing or does that involve a massive bandwith increase?
Just curious to know if people agree with me on this subject

I've had similar issues for sure.
What works for me is I usually pm everyone. Your sent box will contain all the pms you've sent that haven't been opened. Your out box will show people that have seen the pms. This way you can see if someone who isn't joining just hasn't been online/checked their pm yet, or if they have and are just being difficult.
Mine isn't a perfect solution, and I like your idea, but I'd rather see a mass pm feature only mods and tournament organizers can use first. Then maybe we can get a way to check when someone has last been on the site.

Warning: You may be reading a really old topic.
mass pm is indeed a very usefull timesaver... takes me up to half an hour to send the game invites to all 60 players in the tourny and another hour to check all complaints being made about non-joining players
i used your tactic with the sent/outbox but still isn't the perfect solution...
i can trace the unwilling and the willing but not available, but it's just so time consuming, annoying and just plain boring i'd say
anywho... thnx for the feedback (that means u 2 AK
)
i'll keep checking the forum for news then...
Anyone know when i can expect a definite answer/solution/rejection etc.?
PS: can you give me the exact link of where it's discussed cuz the to-do list is pretty big and i dunno under what name it's proposed?!
thnx in advance

LOL... so if it's not on the to-do list it could take awhile to be implemented you're actually saying or aren't you
Anywho... checked the suggested topics but aren't really useful imo
it's more about RT games and if people were on 5 or 10 minutes ago
I'm mainly interested in long terms of absence so i can decide if they are bumped to the reserves or imo eligible to play again in the next round(s)!
It could spare me alot of time to know if some people are just offline for a day, few days or weeks already...
But as the topic creator in your suggested links already said: let's just wait patiently on what Lack's got to offer
thnx for your reply, much appreciated

Last Login Date
Suggestion Idea: Really simple, in each players profile it displays the date of the players last login.
Specifics: Below "Interests" in each players profile there is something that says Last Login: (Date of Last Login)
Why It Is Needed: Shows people when you last logged in so they can see if you are missing turns just in a specific game or are on vacation or something. Very simple and easy to apply to the site.
Priority: 4, very easy and simple but very helpful.

I don't like the idea, because it goes into your privacy..
If you just want to go on quickly, check and see how long you have in games, but don't want to take any turns unless you have to then people would see you did that, note that you are not on, and ask why you didn't take your turn.
Unless you could do like you can on MYSPACE and hide your "last login" then I'd say nay!

Thats where I got the idea, from myspace, so if you have a myspace you know how helpful the Last Login Date is. If people question why you didnt take your turn you could explain it to them, its not like you are obligated to take your turn whenever you are on. Just tell them, how hard is that? The Last Login display will be much more helpful than the one negative you present (which isn't even a real negative).john1099 wrote:I don't like the idea, because it goes into your privacy..

phpbb3.0 has been in beta testing for 3 weeks. when do you think it will become available??lackattack wrote:"Last visited" will appear on your profile when we upgrade to phpBB 3.0 (whenever it is released). I do not think it will be optional.
oh and the idea is good. i'm tired of checking other games to see if people missed all their turns or just the one in my game
