What i do know is that we should blood test someone everyday, then if clean, we can focus on the rest. You are welcome to blood test me then if you like. Was just thinking that if we test someone early in the day, then focus can move towards someone else.

Regarding the blood test, does it really make you a target for the Thing tonight? so FT might think Thing will focus on BT person, and so can Thing do the same and recruit someone else. We will never know.

Now i am also thinking, why you protecting Loose so early? Did you maybe recruit Loose and that's why you knew he would know in one of your first posts?
Hahaha good old Charles at his best

So both the original Thing and whoever is currently converted (1 already at start of game) will show up as guilty in a blood test? And they generally convert one a day, and we only get one lynch a day, so we'll have to use town vigs as the clincher to beat their pace on top of getting lynches right? Anyone know if we get confirmation if we killed a recruiter thing vs grunt thing after lynch so we know if a conversion is in play for that night?

I do see why we might want to just go for early blood test day 1. Still fun to see what people's suggestions for that are though.

The Original Thing would be randomized by rule.

But the recruit already in play would be chosen by The Thing.

Who would you have chosen? Marginal gains yes,...

Then if we manage to kill the original Thing im sure DDS would let us know (if i remember correctly)..

BT as a rule every day + Lynch every day and FT every night i think. On the other hand i remember Charle being McReady (first in line for Vig) in the first Thing game and he torched one of the back-up vigs on night 1...

In a blood test, negative result is blood electrocuted without any reaction. Positive result is the blood jumping sky high (away from the electricity).

You get 2 gif's showing it (negative or positive). Ofcourse it goes without saying you lynch any positive result

Hold on sonic.

Do you lynch if positive?
Why not let flamethrower kill that night and think about lynching a suspect that day?

Just a reminder for those that have a nasty habit of lurking:

You have 72 hours (3 days) to post. I'd like to try and keep the game going at a smooth pace. You get two warnings before i start replacing/mod killing.

If we BT if the Thing then there will be one player less to choose among to kill with the flame thrower - case negative test.

Thats a bit of an uncertainly typed post hjelp.
Almost as if you felt it time to post something, probably giving the impression of rebutting my question of sonic, but wanting to play it each way in case it gets accepted as a sensible question or maybe dare i say a question that disadvantages the infected.

I never played the original one but only question with this is whether the thing can act before flamethrower kicks in so you wouldn't want to miss on a certain kill in case it was able to escape to someone else

I don't see why we wouldn't lynch the positive result? We can still discuss who the other(s) remaining thing might be, and potentially use flamethrower on them that night, but this feels like you're trying to get too fancy for no actual gain. If we take a shot in the dark on the lynch and hit an American, and then vig isn't able to kill at night for some reason (I'd imagine if they're converted the backup might only get the flamethrower the next night for instance) then we've screwed ourselves for no reason. We might also miss out on lynching the known evil recruiter thing during the day and giving them that extra night recruit that otherwise would have been delayed a cycle.

I can think of at least 3 good reasons to do so :

A) Say X test positive but we don't lynch X, but with this conversion rate going on we have to lynch anyways, so we could end up lynching our own vig - then the FT will be found by the back-up vig yes...but when? That same night, or only the morning afterwards?

B) If X tests positive there is a good chance it's the original Thing, i prefer his powers being transferred into a recruit with the delay mechanism over a new infection anyday (if DDS keeps the exact same set-up).

C) What if the Thing recruits the vig that night? FT is then to be found in the morning (by the back-up vig) without any torching going on that night..

= Basically do not give a Thing a window to escape.

And D): Say X test positive but we don't lynch X, but with this conversion rate going on we have to lynch anyways..., so we could end up going for our own vig (who then has to claim in order to avoid that lynch).. then C is almost certain to happen..

On B you say if DDS keeps exact same setup.

What was there in the set up of last game that said in night order infection occurred before flamethrowing?
- as DDS hasnt said anything about set up this game.

I'll also throw this question out to DDS in this open forum to see if he'll answer here?

i'm generally against the idea of a D1 lynch but the dynamics here are completely different than most games. we have little to go on, but the blood test is a safe alternative. there really is no downside to blood testing randomly. positive is great, negative means our odds of lynching the Thing go from 1 in 10 to 1 in 9. hopefully Traf agrees, as he's generally even more opposed to D1 lynches than i am

and agree with sonic. letting someone with tainted blood live to the night carries some risk but with no reward. a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. so kill that tainted bird when you can.

blood test LC because why not :D

not sure if this matters, but bunnies blood test vote wasn't in bold. guess it depends on how much of a stickler for the rules DDS wants to be :)

If you want you can read the entire last game in the archives. I looked it up but it's 52 pages.. there was a night though were Charle (Mcready) was infected. Childs got the FT (or not) the next day i think but i can't remember because to lazy to look it up.. i did see the comments of DDS about it in the last pages.

Now about the BT on Loose. Remember, we only have max 3 days and thus, only max 3 BT's..

Therefore i think we should decide on who we use it today more carefully then just jumping on Charle's randwagon.. Charle could be infected or he could be the Thing. He claims he can't remember last game but in the sign ups he posted that Traf's game was his third ever. He remembered that allright.. i find it hard to believe he can't remember when he was the star of that game (McReady with the FT).

I absolutely agree with Sonic, if we get a positive result, we should lynch that person so that if it is a recruit, the Thing is one step back and Town gained one, and we have a chance to vig the Thing as well at night. We do not need to lynch straight away after the result, we can use the day to gather info as much as we can though, but we should lynch the positive result. Should we miss the deadline and there is no lynch (sometimes that happens as well), obviously only then the FT should vig the positive blood.

If we do not have a positive result, then that person is obviously safe for that day, but we should still lynch one person so that Town still sit with the first move (EW's tactic).

@ Loose Canon.
The most likely outcome of BT is negative. That’s why I wrote it. That’s what I think. It’s the first assumption wherefrom to decide to use FT. If case -positive test- there will be no problem. We lynch the Thing and still have the option to use FT.

In both cases - one less to choose among to use FT- also if there are two or more Things.

So I’m not sure of why you don’t think it make sense? Or maybe I don´t understand the setup of the game.

Or are you trying to stear away from you to be tested ?

@ Hjelp, there is one Thing to start with, and he already recruited another. So the game started with one, and then he recruited another on day 0. If Loose blood test is positive, he is either recruited or the original Thing.

If he is negative, then obviously he is town, so we need to find someone else to lynch and FT.

So LC acting a bit glitchy. Signs of infection?

Now im wondering: Did town Charle hit the jack-pot on that random LC for BT or is it Thing Charle making a brilliant move?

Because what i do remember from last game is 5 pages of discussion wether EW was town or infected (when he voted first for BT) and the general concensus after 5 pages of discussion was that the Thing would not risk drawing attention : therefore whoever voted first had to be town.. does Thing Charle remembers that and uses it here?

Unlikely to me that a flamethrower at night on the thing wouldnt stop the thing from infecting that night.

Red flags on multiple players for me right now

What are you mumbling about?

It's about getting the chance to use the FT.. ofcourse the flamethrower, when USED, kills the Thing.

But If Macready is infected that night the FT is lost for that night. Im pretty sure that if The Thing sends his /her nightaction in "convert X (mcready) and Macready sends "flame Y" (the thing) then the conversion goes through first. Not the FT action.

So you are saying you are pretty sure if we say lynched the recruit d1 and then flamed the og thing n1 we wouldnt win.

Instead wed have to lynch the thing d1 and flamethrow the recruit n1 to win.

How sure are you?
