The weekend starts (for most) Friday AFTER work and the weekend is LONGER due to the Monday Holiday. Thus, the wish is appropriate, Apatheist.

Yes, Labor Day is ONE day, on Monday, but most celebrate for the entire weekend, by various means. For my wife and me, we had our two children and their nuclear Families join us here. We enjoyed our grandchildren and the quiet now that they have left.
