I don't think Trump could ascend to be President. He would only have two years of eligibility as President. Maybe if the elected President and Vice-President served the first two years and then resigned. I don't think two people in those positions would resign after two years. If they made it that far why quit then?

Scandals or ill health, perhaps - although if he's involved, then bribes or threats. Presidents have a habit of getting shot at. Not sure anyone would think an 84-year-old, as he then would be, would be a good idea though.
Surely from a nation of 270 million adults or so, the parties must be able to find someone electable? I know it's a huge ego to follow, but they'd have a lot of credit in the bank for simply not being called Trump. Perhaps there should be an upper age limit as well.
Worth reminding ourselves that Boris Johnson is eligible...other options include Nicole Kidman, Andrew Garfield (already a presidential name) and Sienna Miller.
