RANKINGS
Standings in the CFBT are based on ACCRUED TOURNAMENT POINTS - the more points you acquire, the higher you place. A win against a high-ranked opponent moves you higher in the rankings than one against a low-ranked opponent.
For preseason rankings, I will rank teams based on official CC scoring:
Preseason Score =(Your official CC score @ registry) / 10
I will round up to the nearest tenth!
Subsequent rankings are based on two factors:
1. Your +/- rating in CFBT games. You gain/lose as many points as those points affecting your CC score (i.e. if you win a game and 10 points are added to your Official CC score, you gain 10 points in tournament, too).
2. The number of games you win - for every game you win, you receive 10 points. Conversely, for every game you lose, you lose 10 points.
Therefore, the rank formula is:
ATP = (Preseason score) + (net CC points from tournament) + (games won X 10) - (games lost X 10)
Each player will receive no more than (2) invitations per game. If the 2nd invitation is ignored or declined, that player forfeits, and therefore, 'loses' the game; the player who joined 'wins' by default. Points are added/subtracted based on players' CC scores at the time of forfeit and are determined by CC's formula for adding/subtracting points: (Loser/Winner) x 20. As with other games, the win/loss bonus/penalty of +/- 10 points are awarded to the default winner and loser, accordingly. A player who ignores or declines (2) games will be eliminated from the tournament.
POST SEASON
The top two players (by best conference record, NOT ATP) receive invitations to their Conference Championship game as well as an additional 20 pts for their ATP score.
Each of the (4) Conference Champions and the next 8 highest-scoring participants overall (12 players total) advance to the tournament round.
Ties are settled by 1) head-to-head record 2) conference record, or, if inecessary, 3) a play-in game. Players are seeded for tournament play based on their ATP score. The top (4) players in the CFBT rankings receive a first-round bye.
TOURNAMENT ROUNDS:
Best of 5 (each player's conference home map x1 and USA x 1)
CHAMPIONSHIP:
Best of 7 (each player's conference home map x 3, and USA x 1)
