-----------------There are 2 views on This Monster...INDIAN(Native American) and NON-INDIAN(Others,Towns' People)...Before I give THE INDIAN VIEW,other information...I will give THE OTHERS(Non-Indian/Locals/Towns' People) VIEW...
------------------The LOCALS of The Town say THE DRAGON of CHELAN came to THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST(Washington State)...A Pirate Captain Chelan stoled a treasure chest from somewhere in SCOTLAND, in 1812 A.D...He sailed around , until December 1812 A.D... He was Around The Pacific Northwest Area, Present Day , Washington State,USA...A violent storm came up , and blew The Ship somehow to "NOW", LAKE CHELAN, from the ocean, maybe a long ago river...There is a Spanish Galleon full of Gold , shipwrecked , somewhere in the American Southwest Desert...Now buried in sand,people search for...It sailed on a long ago river or something, that dried up...So it is possible for A Ship back then , to end up in a strange place...
------------------Anyway , the storm rocked the ship, the treasure chest went into the lake...The captain(Chelan) jumped tn the water after it...As the chest was going down to the bottom of THE LAKE...It hit a rock(something) , the chest broke open...An egg fell out...as the egg was sinking to the bottom,it hatched...Out came a baby,THE LAKE CHELAN DRAGON...The Pirate Captain Chelan drowned in the rough waves...That is what NON-INDIAN BELIEVERS THINK...How The MONSTER got in The LAKE...ALL BELIEVE THE MONSTER IS REAL

LAKE CHELAN is 55 miles long, 2 miles wide, and 1500ft Deep...The Creature in The LAKE has been seen for centuries, by INDIANS and OTHERS...
--------------------All believe The Creature looks like, A Winged Alligator-Serpent,soft velvet skin, a scaly tail, and bat/birdish wings...

INDIANS(Native Americans) have had a long history with The CREATURE...They call it "TSILLY"(short for TSILLAN)=DEEP WATER...They also call it N'ah'hahat'Z...

As The INDIANS have dealt with and warned their children about The CREATURE that lives in The LAKE...They stay away from The LAKE...As The INDIANS tried to stop The WINGED BEAST...They damned up the water leading to the valley...Hoping to trap or kill The BEAST...It didn't work, The CREATURE can fly...As revenge for trying to kill it...The CREATURE , made a path of destruction...Killing all The INDIANS...Including a GIRL , who died from her wounds, but before she did...Told her story in pictures...She painted pictographs on rock walls at SHEHEKIN, still visible when The LAKE'S water is low...Today the water is lower, then back when she lived...There are pictographs on the north end of LAKE CHELAN, painted on a HIGH ROCK CLIFF...Across The LAKE from the main dock at SHEHEKIN...

----------------------First, something that backs The INDIANS up...In 1881-1886 A.D...A CREATURE living in LAKE ELIZABETH,CA. , terrorized people, killing cattle...Then flew north...Another CREATURE , was reported by a MAJOR HORANCE BELL , ranger, soldier, lawyer, and newspaperman,"The Flying CREATURE was like as big as 4 Elephants, with an Alligator head..."....A CREATURE , another one was reported , looking like an Alligator, that flew by TOMBSTONE,AZ....In the Tombstone newspaper "The EPITAPH"...Around the same time as the LAKE ELIZABETH,CA...flying CREATURE...
-----------------------The most NOTED report of The CREATURE at LAKE CHELAN,WA., was in 1892 A.D..., 3 men were camping near The LAKE...One man went near the shore, in the water to wash up one morning...YELLED for help!!!...Something bit , clamped onto his leg...The other 2 men came running...The DRAGON rose from under the water...The man's leg in it's mouth...The other 2 men , tried to cut it(The CREATURE) with knives, axes, burn it, even shot at The MONSTER...Their attempts had no effect...The DRAGON flew up in the air, with the man in it's mouth...Dived into the water, beneath the waves...THE DRAGON and THE MAN WERE GONE...Documented in The Wilbur Register(local newspaper)...

--------------------------One day, late 1890's A.D., a new school teacher came to town in the morning...she took a walk, went down by The LAKE, never seen again...
--------------------------In 1945 A.D...A school bus slide of the road into The LAKE, during a snow storm...Sinking 200ft, resting on a rocky shelf...The bus driver and 15 out of 20 kids went down with the bus...5 fell out , when the bus hit the water...Swam to shore...2 divers went into The LAKE, later to the bus, to recover those in the bus...They seen something HUGE swimming below them, a dark shadow...They came up, TERRORIZED!!!...After making their report(never bringing the bus bodies up), THEY NEVER SPOKE OF WHAT THE SAW EVER AGAIN...WHAT THEY SAW, HAUNTED THEM THE REST OF THEIR LIVES...As told by a Local who lives in town today...Don Loyd, LAKE CHEHAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY/MUSEUM.........
