100% agree with these statements. After 18 years here, looking like it's time to retire as this is taking all the fun out of the site.Mad777 wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:41 amThis!!! I don’t know what is worth, the lag, connection issue that remove the fun of playing OR the lack of communication from the team…we all know you are aware therefore it makes non sense for not making a post and answer us and give some sort of update.Kingm wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 6:43 am Like I agree with every one that is angry, I hate it myself.
I personally could "forgive" the problems, if there was communications from up above, but there really is close to nothing, and thats just super frustrating.
We had that update a month ago, and we still live with tons of bugs, but the lag is worse, yesterday I used 50min on a turn I would usually take in 2-3 min.....

Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
bigWham has made a fix that should mitigate the lag we have experienced recently.
Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
FIX YOUR SHIT!!! Still not working this morning
Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
I seem to be getting a bit of lag at the moment - not as severe as before, but worse than it was 3 or 4 hours ago.
That said, it's slowed down further after a couple more hours.
As a former data person (and born problem-solver), I'm wondering whether it's the host server, the connections, the code, or perhaps the database behind it. Does it ever get cleaned up? Have old abandoned accounts been removed if they've been inactive for a period of time? How long are old games stored? Judging by the game number, more than 24 million have been played, do they all need to be there? How about maps that haven't been used by anyone for a while? I don't know what they cutoff points should be - perhaps not the same for users, games and maps, but maybe 5 years as a starting point for each? Does anyone look at games that far back - and if anyone does, are they prepared to sacrifice them for the potential improvement in speed?
Is there anything that players are doing that slows things down? No idea what, just trying to think outside the box - not finishing turns comes to mind, but I doubt that's the issue.
Any other thoughts from the technically minded?
Some information on the recent fix and what it was trying to do might be helpful. I know it's up to the mods to sort out, but you never know, one of us might be able to assist or at least stimulate an idea if we knew what was happening.

Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
Some additional lag has been caused by database imports and backups - whilst that is done there are still a number of issues to work through so please bear with us

Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
not sure if it is just me but the whole day the site will barely load it is just a lot of constant freezing. once you get into the game it isn't as bad but trying to open games and go to next games it is taking 5-60 seconds to load
Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
I was experiencing even bigger lag, few minutes ago... every single move was with timeout.Rushing777 wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 4:03 pm not sure if it is just me but the whole day the site will barely load it is just a lot of constant freezing. once you get into the game it isn't as bad but trying to open games and go to next games it is taking 5-60 seconds to load

Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
seems to be game specific. i've had games that timed out on every action while others were fine. this was the most recent https://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=24294249

Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
And we're back to a laggy, virtually unplayable site again. Didn't take long. Playing has becoming more of a chore than fun at this stage. FYI I don't pay for chores.

Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
Hey dont know if it is worth fixing, but the past couple week there are these random times like now where for an hour or so the site times out between every attack, advance, and fort. times out for about 30-60 second between each attack.

Re: Post Site Lag Issues Here!
Immense lag - cannot complete about 9 out of 10 actions in game - refresh and the action was taken by the time it loads. Page loads taking 2-3 seconds it seems.
