The Tenure Thread

Postby KoolBak on Wed Nov 06, 2024 10:04 pm

I'm pretty sure I have the max tenure here, so here's how it's gonna go:

-My thread - I'll decide what goes.

For example: today, while you all pissed and moaned about the election (and took your various medications and vagina supplements), I scored a rifle for an excellent deal (old Winchester model 290), filled several orders as biz is picking back up, took my kitty to the vet and had a nice nap.

Tomorrow, while more whining ensues, I'll do other stuff :D If you're lucky, I'll share

Is that stuff about being lucky supposed to be a Dirty Harry reference?

Thanks, KB. You're all heart.

Yesterday, although I was feeling suicidal, I went to work and did my job as usual. With winter approaching, I hired three new plow drivers for the winter.

At two o'clock, I got a phone call from my boss and got thoroughly reamed. Because one of my new hires was in training for five hours instead of the budgeted four. Because my fucking bosses have nothing better to do with their time than to spy on me with the remote cameras and see what my guys are doing. And the $30 billion dollar multinational company that owns my ass will probably go bankrupt because some poor bastard made $130 yesterday instead of $104. And learned a couple things useful in his job other than the absolute bare minimum.

Then I googled an old friend and found out he's dead. I hadn't seen him for a while. Last time I saw him he told me he had cancer, but he looked strong and healthy and he said the treatments were going real well. Apparently in the interim, he died. Lesson there, keep in touch with your old friends. If you haven't seen someone in a while, maybe look for them.

DoD....even though we're very different people, you're absolutely one of my fave folks here. Someone that friendship overrides political bullshit, as it should.

You sure put up with a ton of crap at your job; you gotta be getting close to being able to retire? Don't know how that works in the GWN. I'll work til the day I die

So sad about your bud. A treasure lost. My BFF of 44 years and godfather to my boys died in my arms last year. Still fucking devastated.

Hope your shiny new bride still making it all worthwhile brother :D

Three Points On This
1. Work Sucks. That guy who wrote Dilbert explained everything about that, ...so they canceled him!
2. Everybody Dies. Period. ...but an 'old friend' you never needed to see when alive isn't really a core emotional loss, ...only a milestone reminding you of your own eventual demise. Brush it off, and enjoy each day somehow, ...until your termination date.
3. Go Woke, Go Broke on the inside too. Only you can change, Duk. Come into the light. Embrace True Love.

Also, had the same thing happened to me recently with a guy i knew for a bit. He went into a pretty dark place, his fiance got killed in a car accident, so tried to keep in touch, but stuff happens. Earlier this year, he dies in a car accident too. Bit in disbelief about it, can't help but think it was intentional given his state of mind.

Will he be back?

Good riddance. Thank you Powers That Be.

It's really really difficult to piss me off permanently.
Yeah, I'm human and I do get pissed off, but I'm also likely to be handing you a beer 5 minutes after and laughing about what just happened.
BUT, there is still a line of tolerance that is unacceptable to me, that line must never be crossed.
thorthoth crossed that line.
That's about all I have to say on that.

November 10, 24 Adoration

Message from Jesus

I am Lord God Savior of the world. I long for hearts to come to me now more than ever before. Come with hearts wide-open to receive me. Come with full belief that I am who I say I am. God the Father has sent me to those who hear and to those who believe in me to be my messengers to the lost and the forsaken. Come to me, while there is still time. My heart is merciful and tender to all who come to my merciful heart. I call all to my heart. Come.

Ok HR....while I value freedom of speech and, specifically, religious views, I DO NOT support it's being tossed about in everyday conversation where it is not being discussed. It has its place; in your heart in this case. NOT in a real life thread. IE, keep your religious rants to yourself or in an appropriate place. I'm sure you're not interested in the benefits of Taoism....

Please be logical and understand. I, personally, do not subscribe to this belief system, or any other religious ballyhoo. It's meant as a personal tool, to be kept personal. Do that, or take it somewhere else.

TG...thanks; you rock :D

Tried to have a beer with DDS once but wasn't feeling well so missed the opportunity. Invited him out shooting several times...never panned out, and now he's moved to BFE. Opportunity lost.

Have met at least 7 folks from CC in RL :D

I guess tenure means you can set new rules? We certainly don't want any tenure posters here to be upset with different views from your belief system.
