Btw considering this is
1) Sonic
2) "extreme role madness"
3) Sonic
4) batshit crazy
5) setup info in flavour

I assume this is a bastard setup. It might be multiball, but I expect at least a third party.

This is nonsense. If he really dug up this story, assuming LCs post has merit, then kudos to the man for taking that old story and trying it out for mafia. If anyone knows mine and sonics history my compliments don't come easy there but only when deserved. And in this case so far they are.

Gonna play this a bit different and try to analyze and be more involved RL permitting so letā€™s skip the bullshit and get this bitch rollin. Iā€™ll start

Speaking of counts...
We have 13 players, but the Intro Story only introduces 11.
Vampire and his Driver
Masons 1 & 2 and their Driver
Priest and Villagers 1 to 5.

So who are the other two?
Maybe the local neighborhood Werewolf and a Serial Killer??

Certainly a Vampire setting. Which usually works as a cult as far as I can tell. I am expecting a lot of powers in here.
Something smells fishy I will go get some garlic just in case.

It's been a while since I have tried a flavour rich game. Looks good so far. However, this also opens up for the possibility that baddies can hide behind flavour analysis to appear helpful even when flavour analysis might be important.

So far everybody is a little bit right, kinda right, or half right. But putting it all together it's a pretty good start sofar on Intro Analysis and understanding the setup info (made in flavour ONLY to excite even more)! =D>

And after seeing everybody's opening the mod will add that this game has a bastard game play element on top ! After all Count Giure Grando Stregone is not only vampire but also a warlock Sorcerer (Stregone).

(Jure Grando is a figure in Slavic folklore who appears to be the first recorded vampire in history. He was referred to as a strigon (striga), a creature from Slavic legend resembling a cross between a vampire and a warlock. In life he was a stonemason living in the village of Kringa in Istria, modern-day Balkan region in East Europe).
show

Official vote count (only votes after the lift-of post Tue Sep 24, 2024 3:20 pm count)!

Loose Canon (1) - PMC
Votanic (1) - Pixar
DDS (1) - Fusi
Fusi (1) - Devante (unvote has to be in Red, not Orange, im sorry but if i allow it then Ragian will vote / unvote in Pink)

And I need to look sharp here

I hearby revoke this meta. EW is allowed to be helpful without appearing scummy.

Although I agree with rag, I am not a fan of flavour reading generally because it's easy for scum to engage with it without any fear of slipping up because its abstracted from the players, its just reading the mod, which no players know. In this game the mod seems to be encouraging it and actually giving us info that might be relevant so I will let people away with it for now, but none of it counts as reading players which is the most townie activity that exists.

Nice story going and well done Sonic!

Sonic promised us that there will be lots of PR's so an interesting game waiting for us.

It all comes to town that needs to find scum, or maybe a third party as well, maybe there is something behind Votanic's post?

I really liked EW's post of why town needs to lynch someone on D1 in the previous game (the fact that if you do not lynch, you hand the first move over to scum at Night 1). Having said this, in that game EW was scum, so EW this is to you now, do you still think this theory is good for this game?

Hmm, Yes, having the Striga also be a Mason would truly be Ultra-Bastard.

Nice Catch 22 here. Might as well answer it EW, ...because it will also be scummy if you ignore it.

FOS at PMC (and rag) for casting ungrounded suspicions on players engaging with the game and its flavor (self included), ...while also likely (and hypocritically) benefitting frome any flavor analysis provided. Flavor Appreciation is not alignment-indicative.

..and also take note, all the votes so far are only joke-votes (or scum simulations thereof).
So everybody is going to just treat them like jokes, right? ...right?!?

Curses! He is on to me.

Finally an unfounded FoS from Vot. I've missed that :P I'll repeat it for you: it "opens up for the possibility that baddies can hide behind flavour analysis to appear helpful." At no point am I against flavour analysis in a game such as this. That would be dumb. Pretending that PMC and I have said that is also dumb.

No you did say it, insiduously.
Scum can hide behind anything, so stating that they could hide behind analysis in particular, while also noting that it is beneficial/necessary (and thus Townish) is just doubletalk.
...and to be clear, such doubletalk is not helpful to Town (thus Scummy).

Obviously, it makes sense to point that out to people who haven't played flavour games before. Obviously, scum can't hide behind anything (not even in italics). Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

How I caught on to you in The Thing, too. It's nice to see that you're doing the exact same thing here. Are you scum in this game, Votanic?

You know I'm sure I've seen a film where barrels that turn out to be barrels of sand are delivered to someone s house.
Just can't remember what it was or what it signified.
Probably an old hammer horror but I just can't remember.

Good grief! This is a classic double-talk:
Ragian: I would never imply that Flavour Anaysis is scummy, (...I have repeatedly implied that very thing in every post where I say I do not.)

You want to embarass yourself by bringing up The Thing game? ...Okay.

In that game, the same as in this one, I argued effectively that Flavour Appreciation is Not Alignment-Indicative.
You however, tunneled in on me because you hate flavour, ...and in the process got caught lying about your own knowledge of the movie.
This dishonest, self-caused scummy appearance of yours ultimately led to your being lynched, ...even though you were town. Hmm, didn't that also just happen in the last game too?

Yes, I did happen to be The Thing (scum) in that game, ...but that is entirely coincidental with my flavour appreciation of the cinematic source material.

No, I don't hate flavour. I think I even stated the opposite, saying that this game looks good so far. You probably didn't read that. I was on to you from D2 in The Thing game because you hid behind flavour analysis that had no impact whatsoever on the game. Yes, I got lynched in The Thing game because - and this is the only funny thing I can remember you doing - you recruited me after I was on to you. You can try to spin it any way you want - coincidence, bad setup, stupid world, whatever - but the facts are right here if you please.

So, are you scum in this game, Vot? Are you a reincarnation of The Thing?

2 questions

Rag are you serious you have a possible scum tell on vot or are you just shaking any tree to see what falls out?

Vot you said you were going to play slightly differently in the pregame chat.
Care to tell us now how you are going to play differently - if you still intend to?
