First (?) red herring::
So if the striga was offloading shotgun barrels in the basement, ...maybe we should we dig up the basement?

Anyway, concerning the sand barrels... I do recall some vampire legends say that a vampire's coffin must contain the soil from his native land, ...but that is soil & coffins, not sand & barrels.

It also sounds like the vampire/s have to find a particular player, .... or a particular object (...like a sword) which is probably held my another player.

Speaking of objects, is that silver axe/saw thing (andthus, not a sword) also an object of gameplay?

...and it also sounds like both the vampires and masons each have a driver/bodyguard/henchman that could lend an assist, ...though if that mason-bodyguard knows who the masons are that would basically be like a third mason.

Yes, The Masonic Axe is another Masonic weapon in play (next to the VERY LARGE COMMUNITY SWORD).

The Masonic aXe is a sharp, fast, heavy and lethal Holy weapon. It is well known for it's devastating accuracy. So be very afraid of the deadly "(aXe)" when being a unholy creature of the night or its servant(s).

Intro Analysis Addendum 1:

Maybe the mason bodyguard knows who the masons are, but the masons don't know the bodyguard? ...or maybe he is just a regular bodyguard and his relation to the masons is just a story detail.

Could the 'sand' in the barrels be gunpowder?

If it's vampires we're dealing with, then nobody leave their house at night or invite anyone else in and we're good. Personally I'll be sharpening my silver cutlery in wait to be ready to emerge and eliminate all threats to town.

Yes WHITE SONIC NOISE COULD BE CONFUSING YOU (like always)

After all White noise, is a type of random noise that has equal amounts of energy across all frequencies. It has a flat spectrum and sounds like static or hissing (NOT to be confused by PARSEL TONGUE!!). After all im the mod here, and im not playing myself!.

Random noise refers to any kind of noise that is unpredictable and has no pattern. It is essentially a random signal that can have any frequency or amplitude. White noise, on the other hand, is a type of random noise that has equal amounts of energy across all frequencies.
Tonality is the arrangement of pitches and/or chords of a musical work in a hierarchy of perceived relations, stabilities, attractions, and directionality. In this hierarchy the single pitch or triad with the greatest stability is called the tonic. The root of the tonic triad forms the name given to the key, so in the key of C major the tone C can be both the tonic of the scale and the root of the tonic triad. The tonic can be a different tone in the same scale, when the work is said to be in one of the modes of the scale.

Ofcourse being this a mafia confusing "mind fuckery" game the TONIC can simply refer to SoN!c GIN & TONIC (just booze talk) or the wine glass in front of you (i think im pretty known for drinking good glasses of wine).

Rereading the intro here's what pointed out from the story:

• Strange looking coins
• Barrels of strange sand, likely from original land as count Dracula has
• Master likely father vampire
• Knocks on doors, needs to be invited in
• A couple of days to die, likely converting to vampires
• A village priest
• Two masons with a bodyguard
• Some bodies decayed only one was converted
• Sacred relic weapon held by a mason
• Striga vampire searching for someone
• Find 5 villagers to hunt vampire
• Empty coffin, which based on count Dracula he needs to return to
• Possibly leaving at night exposes you to the count

Based on amount of players we could have 7-8 town. If there's the two masons and his driver and the recruited 5 villagers. That leaves 5 out of the 13. Likely 2-3 scum, I assume 3 based on player size which could be count, vampire and the driver. That would leave 2 possibly 3rd players. So we have to find 5 scum/vampires out of the 13.

Those of you more experienced that seem like a fair set-up assessment?

What you suggest at least falls with the bounds of reason...
That idea of the Priest forming a Fellowship of Five players is interesting. It could just be a poetic way of saying 'bandwagon' ...or it might imply something more specific...

The idea of needing to be invited in intriguing, but I don't know how that would work with gameplay...
The vampire can both kill and convert. Is that by choice? ...or a limited number of conversion? ...or perhaps those two possibilities are random outcomes that it does not control?

That sand seems too specific to not be real clue, but what?

Jure Grando was killed by an axe, and there is an evil-fighting member of a very famous fellowship known for contributing his axe to the cause. He's even chosen to represent the best and most worthy from a former group of 13 (just as we now look for the best of us from our group of 13 players.) SoN!c, I'd like to formally request the assistance of Gimli, son of Gloin, and his axe.

He is also specifically one of 5 who join the group at the council of elrond, making nine with the known pre-existing group of four hobbits. In our case, these are the masons and their ilk, who I will henceforth be considering the hobbits of the town. Consider it a honour and a rare privilege if by the end of this journey you have become worthy of such a title.

"Making 9" is no coincidence.. [its the holy number of a fellowship]. 8 stones under a masonic corner / head stone..

But the mod has to point out that 1 village priest + 5 townies = 6 town and not 5 + 1..

Just posting what I found on the internet as we are all thinking about what this game might be about

History
Jure Grando lived in Kringa, a small town in the interior of the Istrian peninsula near Tinjan. He died in 1656 due to illness but according to legend, returned from the grave at night as a vampire (štrigon) and terrorized his village until his decapitation in 1672. Ana and Nikola Alilović, daughter and son of Jure, fled from Istria to Volterra, Italy at young ages.[3]

The word štrigon in Venetian, which is commonly spoken in Istria means sorcerer, cf. Italian stregone.

Legend
The legend tells that, for 16 years after his death, Jure would arise from his grave by night and terrorize the village.[4] The village priest, named Giorgio, who had buried Jure sixteen years previously discovered that at night, somebody would knock on the doors around the village and on whichever door he knocked, someone from that house would die within the next few days.

Jure also appeared to his terrified widow Ivana in her bedroom, who described the corpse as looking as though he was smiling and gasping for breath and would then sexually assault her.[5] When Father Giorgio eventually came face to face with the vampire, he held out a cross in front of him and yelled "Behold Jesus Christ, you vampire! Stop tormenting us!"

The bravest of the villagers led by the prefect Miho Radetić chased and tried to kill the vampire by piercing his heart with a hawthorn stick but failed because the stick just bounced off of his chest.[5] One night later, nine people went to the graveyard, carrying lamps, a cross, and a hawthorn stick. They dug up Jure's coffin and found a perfectly preserved corpse with a smile on its face.[6] Father Giorgio said: "Look, štrigon, there is Jesus Christ who saved us from hell and died for us. And you, štrigon, you cannot have peace!"[6] They then tried to pierce his heart again, but the stick could not penetrate its flesh.[3]

After some exorcism prayers, Stipan Milašić (one of the villagers), took a saw and sawed the head off the corpse. As soon as the saw tore his skin, the vampire screamed, and blood started to flow from the cut. According to folklore, peace finally returned to the region after Jure's decapitation.
