Meanwhile, the U.S. has bought 81 Soviet jets from Kazakhstan, at a total cost of $2.26 million, or less than 20 K per jet.

What the jets are to be used for has not been announced, but it is generally assumed that they will be given to Ukraine as parts planes for its fleet. The MIG-27s, 29s, 31s, and SU-24s, are generally considered obsolete by first rate powers, but they are still in use in Russia and Ukraine. By buying these planes for Ukraine, the U.S. helps Ukraine keep its own air fleet alive, while denying those same parts planes to Russia.

You can't buy a second-hand Cessna for $20,000. This is one of the best bargains of the war.

I wonder what Kazahk official the U.S. bribed for that? Considering the neighborhood Kazahkstan is in, this seems like a decision that will benefit the bank account of a corrupt Kazahk bureaucrat and cause three decades of misery for the Kazahk people. (The same modus operandi that got Ukraine into this mess in the first place. America is cleaning up its messes by making more messes, just like it's been doing for the last 110 years. This Ponzi Scheme ain't gonna last forever.)

What is the drone survival difference between an Abrams, Challenger or Leopard? Likely they are all being pulled back. Sounds more like an air defense issue.

Please... Hauling 81 30+-year-old heaps of 'unusable' rusting scrap from Kazakhstan to Ukraine is going to cost way more than 2 million.

Reminder: no matter what happens on the battlefield, the Ukraine race will be extinct. That's already baked into the results. Unless the U.S. is willing to buy Kazahk semen instead of MiGs, that won't change.

Ukraine has lost 34% of its prewar population:

https://www.wsj.com/world/one-million-a ... _lead_pos8

Either Russia will get those natural resources or the U.S. will. The only thing we know for sure its Ukrainians won't. None left.

Male Europeans and Americans will fill the void and repopulate Ukraine

Meanwhile in Russia, "Brain drain,
Russia is experiencing brain drain, which is making the situation more challenging and of course over 500,000 dead and wounded Russians don't help either.

The United Nations projects that Russia's population will decline by 25ā€“50% by 2100, compared to the current population of 146 million."

After Putin falls out of a window, Americans and our allies will help the Russian women repopulate Russia.

I have a feeling millions of Ukrainians didn't realize that was the plan; their race, language, religion, culture, and customs would be wiped out for eternity. But there'd still be a pile of dirt on a map labeled "Ukraine," now populated by Jim and Beth Bob Martin from Oklahoma City. =D> =D> =D>

Fun facts:
ā€¢ The true meaning of Native American is anyone born in America., since the word 'native' refers to being born in a place.
ā€¢ The best name in English for what is often called 'native americans' is Ameraboriginals, though Amerindians will work, if one is willing to accept a very broad concept of 'The Indies'.
ā€¢Ā If one is going to try to change the meaning of 'native', so that the term vaguely refers to where our distant ancestors originated, then one must accept that all Homo sapiens are all ultimately African.

A woman claiming to be the wife of a U.S. aviation trainer posted to Facebook claiming her husband has been killed and the U.S.-donated F-16s all destroyed on the ground at Starokostiantyniv airfield.

Image

The U.S. is saying nothing, but the Ukes are acknowledging that a site at or near Starokostiantyniv was hit with 3 of the Federation's Killjoy ballistic missiles.

https://ukranews.com/en/news/1037110-st ... not-public

The Times of London reports the last lines of Uke defense are buckling.

Pokrovsk, Ukraineā€™s key logistical and communications hub in Donbas, is under daily bombardment from aviation and artillery, and the Russians are grinding slowly forwards in a pincer movement around it. It seems likely that the city will face the same fate as Avdiivka and Bakhmut.

The Ukrainian fortress town Vuhledar, 50km south of Pokrovsk, once renowned for its fierce defence against Russian assault, is under massive attack, all but surrounded, its defences breached.

Meanwhile, the audacious Kursk operation ā€” Ukraineā€™s one major offensive of the year ā€” has so far failed to draw away Russian forces from pressure points elsewhere, leaving Ukrainian defence lines unbalanced and creaky further south. ā€œKursk? It hasnā€™t affected our situation here one way or another,ā€ Nara shrugged.

By true meaning, you mean your preferred meaning?

According to virtually every dictionary, native has multiple meanings. Yes one of them is 'being the place or environment in which a person was born', but another is 'relating to the Indigenous inhabitants of a place or environment'... and one of the definitions of indigenous is 'descended from the earliest known inhabitants of a place'. The earliest know inhabitants of what is now Canada, USA and Mexico are the Americans now refer to as 'Native Americans', and Canadian tend to refer to as 'First Nations' or 'indigenous peoples'

If you want to go around calling yourself a native american though, technically your not wrong and it's a free country. Just understand that when you look in a dictionary, picking the definition you like when 99% of society is using 'the other' definition in a given context, it doesn't make you right and them wrong. It just makes you mildly obnoxious.

A Time for Everything

3 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 describes an interesting concept.
It is often perceived politically as advocating pacifism, but what it really describes is an understanding and acceptance of the temporal (and spatial) balance between dichotomies. It is roughly analagous to the Tai Chi (Yin & Yang).

Therefore, the time of hate is as essential as the time of love. The time of war is as essential as the time of peace.

Congratulations, everyone!

Today is the 65th Anniversary of the liquidation of the Ukrainian leader Stephan Bandera!

On this day, in 1959, Major Bogdan Stashinsky of the KGB flooded Bandera's apartment in Munich with cyanide gas. Major Stashinsky subsequently escaped across the Inner German Border, though later returned to liquidate additional Ukes in hiding in West Germany.

(Bandera's Nazi-aligned troops were responsible for the massacre of tens of thousands of Jews during WWII. Nonetheless, in 2010, he was posthumously named a Hero of Ukraine by the Uke government.)

Thank you, Russia!

Your misguided partisanship aside, saxi.
This ugly little anecdote still serves a purpose in elucidating a greater truth.
Now that we know that all people perform torturous and genocidal attrocities (For examples: Russians with the Czars, USSR, and Putin; Jews with Israel, etc.).
So why then are Nazis even treated with so much more additional contempt that any other totalitarian nation, political movement, or ethnicity, all of which have blood on their hands, more or less in proportion to their strength. Since it is obviously not be because their brutality was exceptional, it must just be because they lost a major war and now all the other sadistic bullies worldwide deflect their own equal guilt by saying we are not them. I guess Hypocrisy must be the natural and eternal state of Man.

France has decided it's going to spend its 2025 Uke military aid commitment on buying things for France, instead.

While it is true that falling short on military commitments to its allies is a despicable cultural trait of these frog and snail-eating people.
That they thought to give even passing consideration to fiscal responsibility does show some small improvement in character....

I guess the French were taking careful notes when they watched the US abandon the Kurds after they'd finished using them as cannon fodder in the fight against ISIS.

Kurdistan is an ethnicity, like the Jews, not a nation. Much of what could/would be Kurdistan is actually in Turkey.
Besides we're talking about France!
They more than half-welched in WWII just to keep Paris looking pretty...
And now a careless immigrant worker burned down their Notre Dame cathedral tourist trap.
There is surely some convoluted irony in all of that.
