How corrupt is Judge Thomas? Close to $6 million in gifts.

Postby GaryDenton on Thu Jun 06, 2024 11:38 pm

Unbelievable corruption.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is a bought judge based on their investigations and on news reports.
Justice Thomas has accepted $5,879,796 worth of gifts in 20 years. This is probably a low estimate. He disclosed less than 9% of these.
How corrupt are the other judges?

Here are the next three in ranked order:
The late Justice Antonin Scalia: $175,861,
Justice Samuel Alito: $170,095,
Justice John Paul Stevens: $79,059.

Supreme Court justices now make $298,500 annually, and the Chief Justice makes $312,200.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) wrote: “Clarence Thomas needs to resign. And the DOJ needs to investigate whether he’s violated the Ethics in Government Act.”

lol, republicans have become professional victims in 2024... 'we didn't do anything wrong' after proved to be a lie becomes 'we did this but it's not wrong' becomes 'we did this and it was wrong but it wasn't illegal' becomes 'we did this and it was wrong, and it would be illegal if any other citizen did it but this citizen is except because of their political position'.... all while somehow believing they hold some moral high ground. I know it's not your current leaders strong suit, but you guys should experiment with holding the people you vote for accountable to the standards you try to live by yourselves... in the long run it's easier than saying the ends justify the means so it's worth supporting a pedophile(Gaetz most recent example) if it helps get the laws i want passed.

A perfect metaphor HitRed.
For surely, their are few sights on 'God's Green Earth' more beautiful than chopper-launched pyrotechnics striking against high-end Italian-engineering as the sun sets in the desert.
...and yet some arbitrarily decide that such spectacular majesty is illegal ...and for purely political motives, oc.

as for mooksy railing against his opponents' claim to the rarely trammeled 'moral high ground'. He should look at the dems mountains if dirty laundry (Chappaquiddick, slavery, White Water, Monica's dress, etc.), which should also include all the recent legalistic shenanigans that have been thrown at their various enemies (Trump included) in the various kangaroo courts of both civic and criminal varieties.
For once the wicked are able to decide upon the Laws, then all their wickedness shall be performed completely legally, ...and so it means nothing.

Surely you don't believe a 2024 democrat is voting for slavery do you? Is 'but Dems supported slavery 200 years ago' the most relevant counter argument to someone suggesting your party elected a pedophile, and the removed it's own party's speaker solely because the pedophile wanted the ethics investigation to stop? Does the idea of asking leaders of your party to hold themselves to the standard of 'not being a pedophile' upset you generally? If it came out tomorrow that Ketanji Brown Jackson had received $2 million dollars in cash from George Soros in exchange for attending a 'conference' for a week on a private hawaiian island, I would be calling for her resignation... can you seriously sit there and say you wouldn't? I don't know if 'mainstream' democrats in congress would support calling for her resignation but I certainly wouldn't vote for them if they didn't. Yet, I only ever hear people on your side defend their position by attacking how bad the opposition is. It's never 'Trumps action were horrible, but he's apologized and weve forgiven him and will continue moving forward', instead it's always...

'I didn't do anything wrong' after proved to be a lie becomes 'I did this but it's not wrong' becomes 'I did this and it was wrong but it wasn't illegal' becomes 'I did this and it was wrong, and it would be illegal if any other citizen but not for me because I was president and this is all a witch-hunt, kangaroo courts i say, I'll help overthrow the goverment if i lose the next election"

Why is that? Can you answer with it involving 'cus democrats bad', 'socialism, deepstate, shenanigans', cus that would be something I'd actually love to read. Something that is actually about the behaviors you put up with from your leaders rather than deny everything, other side is also bad.

Real issuees never addressed. Instead self-serving moral-panic theatrics. Actually, Cult of Personality is NOT important. However, each figurehead is like a key. Choose the one that will open the RIGHT lock.
Democracy was always a VERY FRAGILE and HIGHLY IMPERFECT mechanism. NOW, Internet-level Globalism and coming AI singularity has made it untenable in current form.
AI Singularity real, coming fast. Not just current democracy outdated, but also current demos (= humans)
From the soon-to-be now until terminal entropy, the future is in the 'hands' of cosmic-level machines.
Now you know.

Votanic has no problem vomiting shit on anything he believes would hurt his allegiance to Party over Country. Give this MAGA a direct question and he'll bury you with assorted bowls of nonsensical word salad.
