Or maybe I'm reading you wrongly. Why do you, if you do, think that Sonic is The Thing?

Of course, I'm not psychic and don't have a power role that would confirm it... but as others have said before, his only defense is that he might be too scummy for scum. Yeesh.
I guess the town players who are not pointing at Sonic are not doing so because:
1.He is too obvious a choice
and
2. His antics are not really harming town.
The first may well be true, but the second is not, in my opinion.
Re: The Thing Day 2
You could take the easy way out:Ragian wrote:To be honest, mate, I'm at a loss here.
I think it could be Strike because of his planning that rubs me the wrong way.
I think it could be EW because he was different from how I saw him in The Tick.
I think Swang and Charle were too careless D1 and careful today. Could be them.
I think it could be Traf because...well...I see some of Sonic's points. In that case, I think Vot is his recruit. I don't think vot is the thing.
It could be Sonic, but I doubt it. If it is, however, he's instantly lynched D1 henceforth.
It's not you, it's not me.
What do I do, brother?
Either Sonic's right and he's the hero, or he's wrong and it's probably game over.SoN!c wrote:"lynch traf and if he's wrong vig sonic"
I know im town and i believe like 98% Traf is The Thing.. so yes, i have no problem here. Traf will say about anything to save himself like saying this way "2 townies will die" but there is no other way to know that unless your The Thing. So the entire "2 townies" will die line is just a bad defence. Im not buying it and i got no problem with "lynch traf and if he's wrong vig sonic".. i'll face the consequences if im wrong.
If you don't pick one of them, then tomorrow's discussion will probably be the same.
If you want someone else, I'll go with it, but I have no strong opinions on who's the Thing.

Time is really running out and I want to cast my vote after Ragian.
My feeling is that Traf is the Thing, he plays this role excellent, but I think he slipped a few times.
Definitely not Sonic or Strike.

Re: The Thing Day 2
Ok, here are my reasons.
Also, Traf never answered my question as to why he never participated into a BT or Lynch vote so far. It seemed that he steered away from that question.
This statement was completely untrue, as in this game I mostly agreed with Strike who in my opinion made the most sense so far. Also, if he don't think Sonic is the recruiter, why pushing so hard for the Sonic lynch? He is the Thing, he knows exactly who is recruited. He plays this role very good.TrafalgarLaw01 wrote:So is Sonic the recruiter - I don't think so. is he the converted one. Maybe.
If Sonic is the converted one I think the only player that would have converted Sonic is Charle. As u can see that he always agrees with Sonic, even when he does not make sense. My guess is they got to trust each other from the Tick game and maybe feel like this is a continuation or whatever.

Cool. I can dig that, mate. I'll see if I can reread this with that in mind tonight. Then I'll cast my vote.

This quote is interesting knowing you're the third vote. Projecting?TrafalgarLaw01 wrote:BT Dega Cause I think he has have enough time to come up with something but haven't, plus is a good player so sounds a good BT target.
You said something interesting here. I think The thing wpuld not be the first to vote, so That almost rule out Swang, also maybe not the second one so not you. However waiting till to late could also draw attention as it has. I'm BTing Dega cause the reasons said above. But if the thing would want to blend in I think Chalre, Pixar, Ragian and Strike all make a good case.SoN!c wrote: Anyways these are the current standings if im not mistaken:
Blood Vote:
(1) Pixar - Swang
(2) Traf - Sonic, Charle
(2) Charle - EW, Pixar
(2) Dega - Ragian, Strike
No vote: Votanic, Deg, Traf (funny thing is these 3 are also my 3 suspects, Votanic for pressing a random vote). And The Thing not voting early to not draw attention is exactly what i would have done if i was The Thing.
Unvotes at BT-1 because I put a lynch vote in. I can see this as town, but I kind of read this as stalling knowing that a dega BT will happen anyway in the end.TrafalgarLaw01 wrote:I meant ignore Sonic nonsense, not EW. Although it really strikes to me he goes for a lynch even if he wants to say we need to advance lynch votes. I dont see a reason why we wouldnt get the votes for a lynch before the 10 if we BT tomorrow or on Monday but okTrafalgarLaw01 wrote:Unvote Dega
Before sonic or someone jumps to get the BTs.
Cause if I say a BTs on me is wated a Lynch is even worst. So far none is voting for it, but for EW, I get it, I was trying to ignore his nonsense and just try to see if we could get a BT, but if people want to lynch me then I rather get BTed
This to me goes way too much into an otherwise argument without much credit. This response gives it credit. I think if I am town I'll just let it slide as if it's a minor thing, or do aTrafalgarLaw01 wrote:Not really I got to the point where one of the following situations will bring me joy anyway.SoN!c wrote::Part of me want to be lynched just to see what Sonic says when he realize I'm town :lol
You can't explain this any other way then knowing im town. So saying this and at the same time voting for me as The Thing/recruit can't be true.
Fact - I am town.
Scenario 1 - People lynch me I'm town and you are town and end up like a fool for pushing so much without 0 info but acting like you do.
Scenario 2 - People lynch me I'm town and you are one fo the bad guys. So u got away with a kill but at what price?
Scenario 3 - People lynch you and you flip town. Well this one would be the less unfortunate one but really getting tired here. so would not consider it great loss.
Scenario 4 - People Lynch you and you are one of the bad guys and I spotted it. This one is certainly best case scenario.
If you are town - then justify - "If I am wrong lynch me" - I know you will be wrong. So why you say this?
And I still cant let go of this emotion:
This has been going on for day 2 as well - I think Traf is not likely to be the recruit but quite likely to be the recruiter, frustrated that Sonic tunneled on him.TrafalgarLaw01 wrote:TrafalgarLaw01 wrote: I quoted and wrote in the wrong place I highlighted what i wrote but here is it again.
Ok, I'm a really getting tired of this. I though you were gonna play it different as u did in the Tick, but no. You are still as off. Come on then everyone BT me and when it comes clean we can all stop reading this nonsensiscal theories that Sonic post.
Stop acting as if u were extremly smart and able to see how everybody would play this cause u are absolutely wrong about me. We will waste our BT today but at least we all know can know who not to listen to.
Just some of the reasons why I still dislike Traf. I dislike Sonic too, but Sonic is more of a... loose cannon.

Traf plays this excellent Ragian, and I think he is able to swing votes when they are going the wrong way. I think it was strategy. Lots of people listen to him and respect his opinion (including me), but hey, I am new to this, and it is only my vision of the short time I have spent with you guys.Ragian wrote:Why, then, invite to be BT'ed?

DDS, you answer everybody's questions but mine.
Votanic wrote:I'm going to keep this short (...cool).
First a Mod question.
@DDS: Are game roles assigned randomly or did you select people you wanted to see play particular roles?
@ dega, beware of becoming what you hate. I feel like I've just read 20+ dega vs. Sonic posts that play out like a mobius strip.
You're not going to change him or fix him, ...and everybody else already knows ...including the ones who have reason not to admit it.
Tonight's Vig (if any):
I've already voted for the lynch, do I have an opinion on the Vig?
Well sure, Sonic, if he's still around.
Beyond that my hunches are iffy, with evidence not overwhelming, so I'll just keep it unstated.
Moving slower and not vigging might be wise...

If it is true - you are gonna get a nasty surprise when u see I'm not the thing nor was I recruited at least D1 or D2, so plese re read post game and improve your scum hunting ability.

I might not have much town credit right now but I know I've been saying the truth all along. So even if Sonic flips town I do not see it as a great loss as he was clearly not helping town.
This is at the end of D2 when Traf knows the conditions here. He is smart. So he knows D3 is theoretical..
So why can it be a good Thing i got lynched when i "flip" town?? Its bull shit galore even for Texas standards.
Because it's the last real chance to hit the Thing. Its real bad if you would hit a townie on D2 lynch. No matter what or how you try to "sell" this.. if you think im bad for town you just ignore me, you do not squander your last real chance away.
So pretty obvious Traf is selling his pudding story here?, paving the way to steer BT D3 away from him.?? That is how i see it.. very clearly.
Hilarious - as long its not on him ofcourse.."Now I am willing to conduct Bt on either Strike or Charle D3. "

I'd like to comment more but don't feel like I have much new to add since my last comment. I'm still willing to vote Traf or Son!c. I lean Son!c because I honestly feel like if we keep excusing Son!c's behavior as just Son!c then scum or town he'll keep doing it in any game he's in and frankly, if it was anyone else taking things out of context, exaggerating, and even outright lying at times, we would have lynched them day 1. It's really a bad precedent to set that you can use bullshit to inflate cases and then have people say we shouldn't lynch them because you feel that just making cases makes the person town.
Ragian: I'll follow your lead on anyone but myself and Dega. If town does decide to lynch me today, then follow up on Traf/Son!c. Vig and/or Bt.

@Vot, roles are assigned randomly. Take my word for it. What do you feel about Traf?
@Strike, I know you don't want to read Sonic's stuff, but isn't it at least curious that Traf wrote "before the lynch scene"? He clearly thought Sonic was lynched.

Traf may very well be the Thing. Totally possible, ..but I still don't see why he got 'scummified' more than strike, EW, trang or anybody else... other than Sonic targeted him as such.Ragian wrote:@Vot, roles are assigned randomly. Take my word for it. What do you feel about Traf?

Re: The Thing Day 2
Well, you read people differently based on their reactions to what is being said, their commitment to comment on people's play, and their coherence. Are you saying that all of the players that you've just mentioned are equally (not?) scummy in your eyes?

Re: The Thing Day 2
I get that part of any Mafia game is trying to pick up on soft, 'vibey' things, but I must give it less credence than some, because so much of it is ultimately b.s.Ragian wrote:Well, you read people differently based on their reactions to what is being said, their commitment to comment on people's play, and their coherence. Are you saying that all of the players that you've just mentioned are equally (not?) scummy in your eyes?
For (your) examples:
• 'reactions to what is being said': Wide range of acceptable tones, including annoyance, boredom, etc. If they actually say something that is incorrect or seems intended to misdirect that is different.
• 'commitment to comment on people's play': Please don't feel committed, only say something when you think it is actually worth saying. This thread would be shorter and easier to understand if people held to that more.
• 'coherence' Yes, it is good to hold one's stance (including 'no opinion') until he has clear evidence for which to change it.
With regard to your examples, I don't recall Traf stepping out of line too much. For instance, yes, it does sound like Traf may have mistakenly thought Sonic had already been lynched (wishful thinking?)... but his response to that doesn't seem outrageously scummy to me. Everyone (unless they have a power role that gives them solid intel) is always going to await the results of a lynch or BT with anticipation and uncertainty. Being overly certain is a more likely scum-tell.... though even then, I realize players may occasionally forget to add 'maybe' or 'perhaps' to every sentence.
