I actually meant it as a compliment towards those who are able to maintain a high rank despite playing mostly team games.AAFitz wrote:he said no flaming...lolmaniacmath17 wrote:well i voted for myself, lol. but i guess maybe it's harder to win with experienced players on your team playing a bunch of n00bs, haha.

i read it a few more times...and now i see thats the case....it really does seem like a gentle peck at team players...but then i tend to see sarcasm in every post....I wonder why that is....maniacmath17 wrote:I actually meant it as a compliment towards those who are able to maintain a high rank despite playing mostly team games.AAFitz wrote:he said no flaming...lolmaniacmath17 wrote:well i voted for myself, lol. but i guess maybe it's harder to win with experienced players on your team playing a bunch of n00bs, haha.

Id have to say as of now it would be Yosevuk, mainly because hes #1 on the leaderboard. Usually when your number one you are better then #2,#3 and so on. But that doesnt mean under certain game settings that he is better than everyone...

naw mate, that's not how it works. it's easier to get points from team games. this has to be taken into account. however, i think this vote should be about overall best player.Gold Knight wrote:Id have to say as of now it would be Yosevuk, mainly because hes #1 on the leaderboard. thus i vote for david wain. i think mm17 is the best singles player, but there are some close behind him. and wain is the most solid doubles player i've seen. he's also a damn fine singles player. knows his stuff, thinks ahead, rarely makes mistakes.
overall, i think this poll is doo-doo. the list of names, both in the poll and in the supplemental list, is inexplicable. but what are ya gonna do....

why vote? no one else has scored 4600 points.
Blitzaholic. changed the game. All of them are great players but the score says it all. if that changes maybe then have a vote. He changed the way the game is played. Like it or not. He was smart enough to figure it out better then anyone.

Incorrect, actually you are wrong with your facts.
4 hours earlier when I posted that you did have only one vote, dumbass. I see you got 3 in between then.
You're still a tool, and not very smart.

the list is compiled by a new player, and im sure the feedback and postings were confused with playing ability, which is how fireside and I ended up on there...not to say fireside isnt great...but he has never focused on points, so his points will never go to the top...as far as dave, hes great...but id play against him in no cards any day compared to laz long...and he has almost twice as many games as mm17 and hasnt touched his score...or winning percentage i believe your a little biased in your vote on this oneNephilim wrote:naw mate, that's not how it works. it's easier to get points from team games. this has to be taken into account. however, i think this vote should be about overall best player.Gold Knight wrote:Id have to say as of now it would be Yosevuk, mainly because hes #1 on the leaderboard. the problem with the whole thing is in what you posted....david is a great doubles player...problem is, MM17 or the other players may be too, its just they dont play them, so making the comparison is just too hard...
and...every game played is played against different people, so that throws off everything...the only true measure really would be grouping the top 15 or 20, and having a tourney...problem is, it would have to be a big one, and very diverse...they'd have to win trips, doubles, escalating, no cards...etc to really be considered the best...my guess is no one player would do that...luck for one thing would intervene, as would the fact that no one player is probably the best at every game...the trick would be to find the player who was best at one or two, and close to the top in the others...and again...luck would still intervene
The problem with the whole idea right now, is that every player sets up different kinds of games against different kinds of players...to the point where it is almost like comparing baseball players and basketball players...Mike could sure dunk one, but man did he have a hard time hitting a fast ball.
but I agree the list isnt really a great one to choose from...but it was a rookie I believe, who's just trying to figure things out, and have some fun...Hes a positive guy, and a good player, he just isnt quite experienced enough to compile this list just yet....

good points fitz. i'm not sure feedback played into it. i think decolombe just compiled a list based on nominations from his other thread. i assume after this poll he will move down to the next 10 or 11 in his big alphabetical list, then a final poll will come out w/ the top 2 or so from each vote.
i certainly agree that it is difficult to choose among all the players, since so many people either play dubs, trips, or singles. as i've said, mm17 is the best singles player imo. but i also think this should be about the best all-around. that essentially excludes mm17, simply b/c he doesn't play team games very often. maybe he would be superb at them, but i have a hard time believing he would be consistently better than folks that constantly play team games. this perspective also blunts your argument about winning percentage, imo. we've gotta look at overall play on all styles
now to defend my choice: i voted wain b/c i think he is close mm17's skill in singles and i think he is the best in team games. i've learned a lot from him. he almost never makes mistakes. i just look around at all the players who play all styles and take my subjective opinion--wain is the best. it's certainly up for debate. i think it should be noted that you are 1-1 vs LazLong, but only 3-8 vs Wain. so while you admit you are more scared of Laz, the stats don't really back you up (too small a sample vs Laz, of course). i should also note that i've never played laz, so i can't compare them.

I too have not encountered any of these guys in a match and can't give a qualified assessment of their superior tactical abilities. I'm in a game with AAfitz right now,
so maybe he will earn my vote by default.

You should have named the list better, people are reading that thinking that poll is for the best player. However the last thread was about who you thought the best person to play with was. It's kind of like,
"It's not important how you won or lost, but how you played the game."
To me Blitz is the best player, (and nothing against blitz) but I constantly see xMBKx play with noobs and middle ranked guys like me. He is in it to have fun. Nothing else. And loves to teach players how to become better players.
