The Spirit of Conquer Club

Postby Keefie on Tue Dec 20, 2022 1:28 am

This thread is for thanking people on Conquer Club who have made a difference, either to you personally or for the site.

There's an unsung hero on this site who deserves a massive shout out.

mad777

Thank you for revitalising the Tribe section of the site and also recognising the potential of the Super League and pushing to make it a site sponsored event. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

Always great to work with and I agree, he does so much for this site, most of which goes largely unrecognized. Thanks Mad.

100% agree - he helped me get Going for Gold up and running when I struggling and about to give up =D>

Another emerging hero is Chanakam2020, the cheeky cat that keeps popping up everywhere, always keen to help and send reminders when required!!

The Spirit of Conquer Club - A place to say thanks

Postby groovysmurf on Tue Dec 20, 2022 11:22 am

Happy Holidays to all!

Mad777 is amazing! He does so much for this site and it is greatly appreciated. =D>

Chanakam2020 has been an amazing partner this last year; always eager to learn and helps wherever he can.

Keefie, who has been the father I wish I had for the last 6 years!

The guys in A^ for making me feel so welcome and just treating me like one of the guys. :)

A special thank you to JPlo64 and Caymanmew, my two best friends, who not only put up with my craziness, but for some reason still love me, too!

Thanks to all who play on CC!

groovysmurf for being the awesome person who generates tons of fun and entertainment. I'm not here all the time, but in my last two times, I was well entertained by the monthly challenges she creates.

fishydance for keeping our clan alive.

josko.ri for always being the first one to notice my return and getting me into clan games.

ConfederateSS for being super active in the current December monthly challenge, which gives me much fun; and for constantly wishing people happy birthdays.

I could mention more people, but I'm too tired right now. Please forgive me if I failed/forgot to mention anything/anyone!

Thanks to all those that make this site as interesting and fun as it is. And yes at times also frustrating but it is more good then bad. Without the amount of volunteers and members involved this site would not have persisted as it has for us Risk gamblers, so again thank you.

There are many who contribute to make Conquer Club a good site to play this game that many of us love.

I do not encounter ALL of them, but I do want to thank a few, some of whom have been listed here already.

TeeGee and Duk, who try to keep Forum and Chat a good place for discussions. (And this can be a thankless job, at times.) And they do lots more things, too, some of which I have little or no knowledge about.

King Achilles for doing many things that make things work and his contributions are often overlooked and/or taken for granted.

I have issues with ConfedSS (such as large font and rambling posts) but he DOES try to bring a good spirit to CC by his Birthday posts and other threads that acknowledge events on our Calendar.

Mags (MagnusGreeol) who joined my Clan, GoN, this year and brought his positive energy, ideas, and willingness to "DO" to GoN.

I want to also acknowledge those in GoN with me who make this place even more FUN to play games and be part of a TEAM.

And thanks to the many others who made and continue to make CC a great place for the rest of us to play the Game We LOVE. :D =D>

My wish for the new year is that CC continues to be a GREAT place for us to have FUN playing GAMES. Happy New Year, everyone..!

Love this, wish there more ways to communicate. I find it’s not often people chat in games anymore.
Had hoped that would change when I joined a clan but didn’t come to fruition

Hello and good afternoon.

I have been a member of CC for quite along time (way more than a decade). After reading the
notes on this forum I thought I would like to point out why I remain and will continue to
remain a member here.

Before I do so I which to get a shout out to all the creative and developmental staff on CC.
I am not a techie so how you get the games to all work well and revised ect is amazing.
So, for all those anonymous CC managers, programmers ect ect I bow to you all with a
humble and appreciative heart. Well done.

Now let me add why I come on to CC. I work have two main aspects to my work. One is
I am in law enforcement where I am on call 24/7 and the other occupation also has
similar non-structured work days. Thus, I can't be in CC or anywhere else in my life
with a regular schedule.

CC is the perfect game to me as I can come back off a shift or other call-ups. Even my sleep
isn't on a normal routine. So, I can play games whenever throughout my day once, twice,
or whenever I can.

So for what it's worth thanks for having CC. You provide an outlet to play a cerebral game or two
or 40 or more and as long as I am here within 24 hours I never lose a turn.
Keep up the great work. I hope you can hear my ovation from Michigan USA to wherever you are :)

I don't drop by forums regularly...I should, but there're so many things I would like to do and have no time...

I joined in 2007 and I'm still around, so there should be something else other than the game itself if I'm still here...

Anyway, love the thread and want to thank Mad777, LC, Mr Bax, Hooch, 11Joan11, obviously Hopa, Shoop, ScarletLady and all the ones to make this game more than just playing turns.

Have a nice 2023!

Bon any!

I guess that depends wether breaks have been taken. If you've been active all of the time then I doubt anyone would beat you. You beat me by 10 months, but I have always been active.
