The 16-team FCS Football was released over the weekend.
So here is my version. (See bracket at the bottom to select a team).
A typical game averages 12 drives per team, so we will play with that format.
One map will represent one drive with each team getting 3 possessions per quarter -- 12 possessions for the game.
To lend itself to the scoring formula maps will be a mix of Geographical-based 42-territory maps.
Settings will be Escalating, chained, sunny with 20-round limits.
1st Q -- Classic, Alex's Empire, Benelux
2nd Q -- CCU, San Francisco, France
3rd Q -- American Civil War, Archipelago, Canada
4th Q -- USA, California, Far East
Drives will start at the 25-yard line at the start of each half and after scores.
Otherwise a change of possession will be marked by a punt or missed field goal.
A couple minor additions to the charts.
For yardage, if the offense wins they will get a yard for every two cards held at the end of the game. If the defense wins, they will throw their opponent for an extra 1-yard loss for every two cards held.
For punting, if the offense wins after kick passes the 15-yard line any remaining kicking yardage will be divided by 3 to help avoid touchbacks.
For field goals, I'll use a random number generator to decide make/miss based on the percentages, which factor in how close you get for the attempt and whether you win or lost the map.
Similar process for point after touchdowns.
The default will be to only attempt FGs if your drive gets to the 35-yard line or closer.
The default for PATs will be to kick for one point.
If you would like to try to field goal on a drive that ends within the 36-40 yard line then simply say that in the chat.
Same with PAT ... if you prefer to go for two after a touchdown simply say that in the game chat.
It will all make more sense once we get games underway.
We'll be playing one quarter at a time (6 maps).
