Revamped under advice
All boards allowed , but no manual settings , and no trench ,no poly , we want to get finished this year.
The AHL is the development league for the NHL .All teams have links to an NHL team.

This tournament will be based on this league , it is currently running , but not all teams are in it this year due to covid , so i am improvising the set up .
1 v. 1
There is 28 teams to select from , it will be a 80 game season , plus playoffs. 2 games sent out every weekend . You will play your division rivals 4 times ( 2 home 2 away ) the rest of the teams twice , 1 home 1 away.
I intend to send out the cross division games first and leave the divisonal games till last
2 divisions ( east and west ) , top 8 from each division , points will determine seeding for the playoffs , 3 points for win , overtime loss ( if you go to round 13 ), will be a 2 points.The loser after round 13 will get 1 point for an overtime loss
Playoffs will be a best of 7 , Top 8 from each division will playoff , Number 1 seed will play number 8 , 2 v 7 ,3 v 6 and 4 v 5

Note , new team in the nhl this year is the Seattle Krakken , their ahl team hasn't officially been named yet , so Palm Springs will be called the Krakken also , and placed into the division which is currently with 7 teams

Does anyone actually play tournaments on site anymore , 8 years ago i would be lucky to have 10 spaces left in this timeframe

8 Years ago the site had 25000-30000+ players, now theres 6k. Hard comparison. Some tournaments fill pretty fast, others you gotta do outreach and wall people to get them joining.

...and perhaps not putting rule such as « stacking for 3 rounds would forfeit the game », with this and for those who chose no spoils, nuke, zombie, settings, there is high probabilities you would stack and wait for some tactical move...if doing so penalize you then you kind of force member to chose within settings they don’t like for their home map/settings.
just some thought out there, despite having way less players than 8 years ago, appropriately ruling your tournament should help gathering them faster.

Yeah I love hockey, but I didn't even get that far to see those rules. The game load being random weird maps popping up every 2-3 days put me off joining. 76 Games coming every 2-3 days is going to swamp me, and the organization of the OP is fairly poor so I don't even know what I'm signing up for. "no big clunky boards like Waterloo, hive" is very ill defined.
