NOT Rigged

Why is the word "rigged" written in the link discription, then in the title, then in the article text, of an online story from last year?

Going bankrupt (which they were on the verge of because of being shorted more than any stock in history) = No more jobs. (which tends to be bad for employees)

I would say it's like I'm debating a child... but it's much more like I'm debating an out of touch boomer.

The value of their shares does not directly impact their ability to avoid bankruptcy or go into bankruptcy.

If the value goes to $2/share... but people are buying stuff in the stores and they are making a profit.
Then they stay open.

If the value goes to $1000/share... it the stores are empty and they can’t pay their rent.
Then they go bankrupt.

The value has an indirect impact... in that if the value is high they can (sometimes) raise cash by selling more shares and/or getting loans. Also if the value is low then sometimes creditors will close lines-of-credit often necessary to retail businesses. These things don;t really impact GameStop in the short term because they had significant cash on hand.

If you think them being shorted would somehow cause immediate bankruptcy then you are wrong (and you don;t understand how the market or businesses work). The short and low valuation might cause a situation where raiders come in and suck up all the voting shares and liquidate the company... but that’s only likely if the stock valuation is lower than the total cash-on-hand plus assets (property). Raiders only do that if they think they can get more money by closing and selling off parts of the business.

If you want to keep GameStop in business and have $200... don’t buy stock. Go into the store and spend some $.

If you think.... low stock - closed business then it shows me you have no clue and we can;t talk about this anymore.

Also... wait till midweek / mid-February.

McMillions... Not Rigged

Game Stop... Someone explain to Mookie how the stock valuation and actual retail business often have very little to do with eachother.

It slipped below $100, but it rallied back to nearly $150 and is sitting under $110 as I type this.

Alot of companies share price have little to do with fundimental valuation.(that used to be exactly what share prices represented,no more)
Its been that way for awhile.
If anyone says there is no "inflation" get them to look at the markets.(fine art, collectibles)
All that printed out of thin air currency has to go somewhere.

Thats what turned the markets into casinoes, we just saw an example with the redit gang.

Over time that currency will move into other things, the concern is it goes into agriculture, if it does, alot of people could end up hungry.

I’m surprised it’s still floating around $100.

That’s still way over it’s historical ‘norm’. The fundamentals don’t support that price.

There clearly are A LOT of people holding. It’s easy for those who bought at $20 to still hold.

I expected that when it started dropping it’d drop fast. Technically it did... going from $400 to under $100 in a couple days.
Though I honestly thought it’d drop closer to its’ pre-frenzy price... maybe not all the way to under $20 but closer to $25.
It’s still headed that way and I expect it to slowly come down by mid-month.

Still... obviously a bad drop for anyone who bought it over $100... but this last stretch is a much “softer” landing than I’d expect.

If you bought at $20 and sold have your shares at $400 you did great... and now you can sit on the remainder and chill.
If you bought at $20 and are holding, I’d still suggest getting out while you have profit.
If you bought over $100 you are SOL and should dump it now before you lose more.
There will be no further ‘bumps’. Maybe some blips. I can see people who sold at $400 buying some back to keep the game going a bit longer... but it won’t be enough to to seriously raise the price. I could see a blip moving it to $125-$150 if the “Reddit Group” rally... but you know the real movers already extracted their profit.

I am surprise by the bump in the past few days... I didn’t expect it to go back over $100 after it fell below $50.

That said my predictions were not wrong.

I made those predictions on Monday Feb. 1st.
On Friday Feb. 5th the stock was at $63.77.
That is... as predicted under $100.

On Valentine’s day it was around $50... pretty close to $35, I’d say “floating around $35.
Especially considering it was over $300 when I made my prediction.

The current bump to over $100 is a temporary blip. Not sustainable.
You will see it’s being pushed by the same peeps that made a ton on the first bubble,
and they are hoping to suck in another bunch of followers.

How many people bought over $100 during the first bubble and sold when it was at $40?

You can;t claim my predictions are wrong when the data shows them to be pretty good.
Just because there is another blip doesn’t erase the historical data proving me right.

Sorry my predictions were true.
you didn;t so me to forecast forever.

How long do you think this stock will stay over $100?
Put your money where your mouth is... make a prediction.

It’s not sustainable... maybe I was off by a week.
The point is the same.

Uh... I've been putting my money where my mouth is for the last 3 months. You are the all knowing stock god who can predict stock movements but doesn't actually trade. 'maybe i was off by a week'... THE PRICE NEVER DROPPED TO $35, AND IT'S BEEN OVER A MONTH! With earning coming out in about a month, and short interest starting to pull back this stock has super bullish indicators. It will end March over $65/share, and probably spend some time over $200/share in march. Prediction #2: you have a small penis

Another Jim post that didn't age well... Price around $140/share over a month later. Poor people who bought at 80 with their massive losses

It hit $40... pretty close to $35.

Just wait... this bubble you and your buddies are creating is not sustainable.

I honestly would be stupid to take advise from someone who don't invest their own money in the stock market. I get it.. "you can't" because your wife wears the pants (and strap-on) in the relationship.

Just you wait...That's what you said a month and a half ago.. people are gonna get hurt he said, think about the children he said. What you fail to understand is this isn't an organized event amongst a cult. It's highly rational people, independently choosing to use their own funds to invest, based on publicly available data/research. It seems to really bother you that so many were right about the trade and are paying off student loans and donating to charities? The situation was created by overzealous market makers, and now broke kids are making money and you are scolding them.

Congrats boomer!

I can’t because my wife’s job prohibits trading.
(Or more accurately it allows trading, but only through a convoluted approval process. This would delay my ability to make trades and thereby increase the risks and reduce potential rewards associated with day trading.)

If you don’t understand that some jobs prohibit trading of stocks, and therefore what types of jobs may have these prohibitions... then you aren;t as knowledgeable about the Street as you think.

Meanwhile... I’m scolding no one. I am stating facts.
