Doubles is obviously a different challenge to singles. This is even more true when you have more than 1 team, and we rarely get to play these type of games. So, to become the ultimate doubles pair, you need to be able to win with multiple opponents. This tournament is open to 24 pairs and will show you can win across multiple fronts. To qualify for the final, you need to win a game with 2 teams, 3 teams, 4 teams & 6 teams. Do this and you qualify for the final. PLEASE SIGN UP AS A PAIR, OR ON YOUR OWN. if a single, i will allocate in order of appliction.
The final will be played by the first 5 teams to win a game in each format, with the team getting there first choosing the map from the ones used for 4 or 6 teams and settings** (in game time stamp will apply if necessary)
Games with 2 & 3 teams will be played on random map. escalating, sunny, chained.
4 team & 6 team games will be played on the maps chosen to suit a fair challenge - in other words, ones with very little special gameplay. They will require you to work as a team, rather than knowing a few quirks. Settings as above, Escalating, sunny, chained.
** settings must be auto, sequential, 24 hour, no beta. Anything else is ok.
ALL GAMES WILL BE 20 ROUND LIMIT. Having the most troops at the end of the 20 rounds is considered a win.
How it works
2 teams If you get through the 2 team game in first 3 rounds you donāt play another. When we are down to 3 teams you will play 2 games against each other pair whilst the tournament continues. You may be stopping somebody else qualify for the final. If every team wins a game, we stop this format.
3 teams If you win in 1st round, the first 6 through on time stamp, will not play again in this format. The 2 slower winners will fill the bracket, so we have 6 games of 3. This will produce 6 more winners. Some may be multiple winners, if so, the slower winner may have to fill the bracket. This will not be known until games are completed. By this time, you wont play a third game if you win twice. Bracket will be filled by another.
4 teams Of the 4 winners, the 2 quicker winners have the option to not play again if they want. If they dont, the other 2 will fill the bracket. You might want to play to try and keep winning and therefore deny another team a win. The bracket will be filled if necessary with the slower winner each time, unless the winners want to keep playing to hone their skills.
6 teams In this format, nobody drops out. you keep playing, as winning is an incentive to stop others qualifying while you win the other games. If we get to the stage that we have had 6 winners in this format, then those 6 stop playing.
Then we have 5 teams in the final at some point. and one game decides it.
All draws in qualifying stage will continually be randomised.
Game Load
You will start by getting an invite to each of the formats, except the 6 teams games, when you will get 2 games. When the round of each type is over, i will send another batch of that format.
im quite sure this doesnt make complete sense, so will answer any questions. If ive missed anything, please reply in the thread, and will tweak or add as necessary. And, assuming my integrety isnt in question, I may need to make changes for circumstances I may have not foreseen. I reserve this right.
