European Super League ***Winner: General Cod

Postby Craig25 on Mon Nov 16, 2020 9:23 am

Is a European Super League really going to happen?

The CCFA President Craig25 says yes, Bring it on!!

The Tournameent is designed so that you play players of a similar ranking from Round 1 to the finals.

After the Barcelona president's incredible announcement, is a European Super League finally on the cards – or is it all part of some political game? Here's the arguments for and against.

A spectre is haunting European football; the spectre of a European Super League.

On Tuesday night, Josep Maria Bartomeu announced his resignation as president of Barcelona Football Club. During his 35-minute statement, he dropped in – almost as a casual aside – that Barça would take part in a new Super League.

“I can announce some extraordinary news," Bartomeu said. "Yesterday we accepted a proposal to participate in a future European Super League, which would guarantee the future financial sustainability of the club. And we’ve accepted the future Club World Cup format.”

This was a bit of a bombshell to drop in so unexpectedly, and is the first public and formal acknowledgement of any kind that discussions for a Super League have been taking place.

So is this idea finally happening? Here, CCFA looks at why a European Super League could really happen this time – and why it might be a load of rubbish.

First, here's what the idea means.

It depends who you ask. And, truth be told, the exact structure of it would probably not be entirely clear until 'crunch' talks between willing participants took place.

But the generally accepted view is that it would be a normal, round-robin league format featuring around 130 clubs from across Europe.

Usually this idea is known as a European 'Super' League, though when Sky News reported that talks had taken place with Liverpool and Manchester United recently, it was described as a European Premier League. The only difference here seemed to be in branding, and the two descriptors mean fundamentally the same thing.

As well as Barcelona, Liverpool and United, a Super League would probably include the best (or most financially attractive teams) from major European leagues. PSG, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juventus would be likely shoo-ins, with Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan other usual suspects.

How many more English sides from Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal would be invited is a question that would need resolving, as would the cherry-picking of clubs from smaller domestic leagues.

Format

Each player would be given a team dependant on their Ranking. Top ranked Player would be given the CCFA Top Ranked Team from the 10 year CCFA Co-Efficient Rankings. These are attached. So top ranked player, gets Real Madrid. 2nd Top ranked player, gets Bayern, etc. There are 100's!

Tournament Rounds:

Opening:

Each player is Seeded into a Group of 8. Each Round consists of 14 games per player (2 against every Team in your Group). The 1st Seasons games dictate your starting position. The top 8 players with the most points play in the European Premier League, next 8 in the European Championship, next 8 European 1st Division, next 8 European 2nd Division, etc. Where points are equal, in the 1st Round rankings will be decided by the time all your 7 games finish.

Season 1:

Again 14 games per player, 2 against each Team in your Group. At the end of the season, Teams are promoted and relegated as follows.

TIN TRUMPET has come up with a concise explanation of Promotion and Relegation in the new Format. It would've taken me 3 pages to explain this:

To increase the speed at which you can rise and fall through the divisions, the promotion & relegation will change as follows:

Win your league and you get promoted 2 Leagues, runner up goes up 1 League. Finish last get relegated 2 Leagues, finish in 7th you go down 1 League.

2 exceptions to this...which means MORE Premier League WINNERS!

Premier league - 6th place also gets relegated to the Championship.
League 12 (bottom) - 3rd place gets promoted to league 11.

In a tie breaker situation, the results between the players alone will be calculated and the winner decided. If multiple teams tie, results will be compared against each other, the bottom team drops out and the process continues until only 2 players remain. If it is still a draw it then goes to a Tie-breaker.

If multiple players are still tied after the above then the players to have completed ALL 14 games 1st plays in the Tie-Breaker.

Season 2-10:

As above

We will play a minimum of 10 seasons. But more dependant on the number of entrants. A team must be able to rise from the Bottom Starting League to play and Win in the European Premier League.

Finals

The player who wins the European Premier League the most times are the European Super Club Champions.

If there are 2 players tied it goes to a Final. If there are 3,4,5,6,7 players Tied we go into a Mini-League Final.

Game Settings:

Map: Random
Initial Troops: Automatic
Play Order: Sequential
Spoils: Flat Rate
Reinforcements: Adjacent
Special Gameplay: Sunny
Round Limit: None

Tie Breakers:

Map: Doodle Earth
Initial Troops: Automatic
Play Order: Sequential
Spoils: Flat Rate
Reinforcements: Adjacent
Special Gameplay: Sunny
Round Limit: None

Scoring:

3 points for a win. (2-0)

1 points for a draw. (1-1)

Zero for a defeat. (0-2)

So who can dominate European Football for a decade, who can rise from the lower leagues to the European Premier League, who can do a Leicester and win the European Premier League? Only time wil tell................................

Here are some tips for you to follow your League Position and games better, the more you follow it, the better fun it is for you:

1. In your League each match the highest seeded player are the RED Armies. So If you're the GREEN Army, you know you are playing a higher seeded player in your League.

2. Each player ususally takes their game turns in sequence. So most of the time, your 2 games against each player will be in order in Central Command. From that, it is easy to tell if you are winninig/losing/drawing a match up.

3. Download the latest Leagues when I send out an update.

4. Save your Leeague on your desktop and update it as you progress through the season, takes a second and it's easy.

5. To get ALL the results for Your League go to "Game Finder", under "Tounament" find "European Super League". Then under "Game Label" Type "S3 Premier" for Premier League Results, "S3 Championship" for all Championship Results, "S3 Div (then number of your division in letters)" for each subsequent Div. So "S3 Div Three" will bring up Division 3 results only. "S3 Div Eleven" will bring up all Div Eleven Results. If you want to go exceltastic, under "Game Label" just type in "S3" and it will bring up ALL Season 3 results.

For this Tournament I have had a 3rd party compile a list of Europe's most succesful clubs over the last 10 years. Only teams from this list will be represented. I hav'nt checked but I don't think Leyton Orient are on it. Here is the list the Sub-Contractor compiled on behalf of the CCFA:
