Love the idea, I won't have to wait to take my first turn. Although I don't think I will be able to use the feature myself. I play on a phone and can't take snaps.

I use it using my iphone, if you go in settings (from personal menu) then scroll to the bottom and select the panel interface to “yes”, and dew lines below “automatic snapshot”, the snap will automatically occure after you play your round.

Has anyone told him I'd do it? If he's not willing to have even people help the site gratis... that's just depressing.

Have you send him a PM? That would answer you own question

I did send him a message, he lead me to believe that things would be moving forward (at some point, although perhaps not soon), I'm not sure if that will include my involvement or not

Would it not make more sense to simply have the game auto snapshot the beginning so it's always there for every game?

i guess you misread this poll subject because that is the intent, having the snapshot coded to allow the system to take a snapshot when game
start and automatically.
