I should note I'm German, French Cajun, and Mexican
My dad and his family are all white with my great grandma being pure German and the niece of a notorious and famous Nazi which I'll omit
She was the most racist person growing up but she loved me and I loved her even when she ranted with N words and Mexicans this and that
I grew up on that ideology lol

Ideologies are not based on morality
Political ideas can be implemented as a force of "good" depending on the situation
Ideology is a tool and can be presented in different forms which can make it useful or harmful. The real question is, "good" for whom and "bad" for whom
What was good for America at the end of World War 2 was bad for Japanese Imperialism

Fair enough but, it's far from a legitimate democratic governmentjonesthecurl wrote:Um, Russia stopped being communist some while ago...
When Putin can re-elect himself freely, assassinate his competition, and restructure the power of government at will, it becomes totalitarian with communist structuring
Re: BBC cannot and will not call a black a racist
you can't let people think absolutely what they want, if they think things that hurt or are incompatible with the society they live in. Ideas lead to action and certain actions are reprehensible. If you start doing some hate speach propaganda you are a nuisance to the society you're in and you can be punished.what,me worry? wrote:We must let people think what they want for all of today's accepted ideas were once blasphomey and witch craftmrswdk wrote:It's not like there's a binary choice between 'lock people up for thinking things you don't like' or 'let everyone say and think what they want without making any attempt to engage with them'.what,me worry? wrote:We as a society are free to discuss and ridicule these people but we must tolerate them as this is the only way we as a society can grow

They may have ditched a communist economy, but it's still the same gang running the show. Now they no longer even have to pretend to be egalitarian, they can pad their pockets openly now. Putin is quite open about being a retired KGB agent, but an enormous number of powerful people in the government and in business world are also retired KGB agents, or at least former paid informants of the KGB. I don't think it's too far-fetched to say the communists still run the show, even if they've adopted capitalist economics.jonesthecurl wrote:Um, Russia stopped being communist some while ago...

Hard to go from a communist infrastructure and exchange it for a so-called politically democratic government with a new infrastructure
There is a strong rule of the intelligence community and mobsters
Re: BBC cannot and will not call a black a racist
What about all the east European countries that that were incorporated into the communist bloc, are you saying Poland, Hungary and others haven't moved on from communism. Is east Germany still ran by the stasi?Dukasaur wrote:They may have ditched a communist economy, but it's still the same gang running the show. The west is now more communist/Marxist than Russia now.

Re: BBC cannot and will not call a black a racist
I was talking specifically about Russia, not about other nations that were once in its orbit. Poland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, etc. have obviously gone in various different directions. For that matter, so have most of the former Soviet republics. The only ones that I would say are following the Russian system are Byelorussia and Uzbekistan. The ram wrote:What about all the east European countries that that were incorporated into the communist bloc, are you saying Poland, Hungary and others haven't moved on from communism. The west, however, certainly isn't Marxist or anything near it. Marxism both as a political movement and as an economic theory is completely dead in the water.

this is not about agreeing or disagreeing... this is about facts. You seem to be confused and think that all dictatorships are communist.... it's a fact that it's not the case. These are not my personal convictions, and this is not even debatable. It's not even debatable wether or not Putin's regime is communist or not... the country has moved quite a lot since Gorbatchev and the Perestroika in 1991.what,me worry? wrote:betiko wrote:so.... antidemocratic = communism? like fascism is not antidemocratic or something? Now if what you are saying that Putin's regime is a dictatorship in disguise, then we can agree on this. It just has nothing to do with communism.
