Conquer Club is a pretty mad place sometimes, and it's about to get madder.
As of midnight tonight (give or take a few hours, or maybe a few days -- time is rather elastic on CC) I'll be turning over the reins of the Community Team to Mad777. For almost a decade now, Mad has been building a reputation as a solid player, a reliable volunteer, and one of the most creative tournament organizers ever. I'm sure many of you have played in some of his manual tourneys, like the Bracketology series, the Mad Championships, or one of the 86 component tournaments that together comprised the magnum opus that was Madness in Rio.
For the last two years or so, Mad has been shifting from manual tournaments to auto tournaments. On the one hand he has been stretching the capabilities of the autotournament engine farther than it has ever been stretched before, with experimental things like Double Your Glory, and on the other hand launching new projects based on tried-and-true systems, like the Map Masters series.
The Community Team has long been overdue for a shot in the arm. I'm proud of the things that I've accomplished here, but as the years have marched on, I have slowly but surely lost the passion and the drive that the department needs. I'm going to continue helping out, but the person steering the department needs to be someone who is passionate about Conquer Club and has more fire in the belly than I have nowadays.
Mad777 is that person -- passionate, driven, organized, reliable, and creative.
Please join me in celebrating a madder tomorrow on Conquer Club!
