Re: What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
I do not currently have a favourite flavour of ice cream.
As a child I did consider bubblegum ice cream to be my personal favourite.
However, that was long ago and I no longer consider bubblegum to be an appropriate additive to ice cream.
Ironically, though the flavour itself is perfectly acceptable, bubblegum ice cream may now be among my least favourite types of ice cream.

Weird story- on one of my last trips back to the US, I was looking at the freezer section in a supermarket- I think it was a Costcutter, trying to find a tub of icecream that wasn't chocolate or fudge or just vanilla. Something strawberry, or rasperry, mango, whatever.
Anyway, the lady next to me was the salesperson for one of the brands. I can't remember which one, but they were all chocolate chip, or fudge, or caramel, or cookie anyway.
British ice-cream isn't hugely better, to be fair.

Ice cream is one of those things that Americans think they do well, but actually get a lot worse than other countries:
1) Cheese, obviously- American cheese is bad. "American Cheese" is awful
2) Bacon, terrible in the US. Just streaky packs of fat.
3) Crisps, or "chips" in the US. Giant bags of non-flavour. (On this, they are getting a little better)
4) Now Ice cream
Did you know they still have shaved ice over there?

Pork fat is the best part of pork. When i want opinions on food, i wouldn't ask a brit.
In fact, do yourself a favor and get some smoked jowl, best cut of pork. Fry like bacon or throw in a pot with beans and tomatoes.

Braised pork cheeks is cooking for idiots. Cheap cut, difficult to mess up, basically tastes like bacon. Easy turn over for a cook.

Sym & Ta1l (not TG) get into a pork jowl tussle on an ice cram thread. It doesn't get more inappropriate than that.

It's hard to find around here. Most the stores don't carry it, and if they do, it's usually expired and buried in the back of weird sherbets and stuff where no one goes.riskllama wrote:good call on spumoni, TG. a rare gem.

Re: What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
A lot of my favorite flavors aren't really ice cream, but gelato flavors.
For the regular Ice cream ones,
Cookie Dough
Cherry Garcia
are probably my favorites.
For the gelato, especially from Breyers
Vanilla Caramel
Raspberry Cheesecake

Re: What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Spumoni can be nice, especially served with some liquer-soaked pastry, but it isn't actually a 'flavour' of ice cream.
