Survive the Zombie Apocalypse [Winner: Acuernas]

Congratulations to Acuernas for surviving the zombie apocalypse!

A group of gamers bring a zombie curse upon the world by playing a game of Risk on the tomb of a Salem witch. Can you survive the zombie apocalypse as it spreads from the graveyard, through the town, throughout New England, the USA, and then to the rest of the world?

The winner of the tournament will be the one who survives the longest. The 18 entrants will be divided into two divisions of 9 players. Each round, the first player eliminated from the game will be eliminated from the tournament. The number of players will gradually decrease until there is only one entrant left in each division. Then, the two division champions duke it out to claim the title of the ultimate survivor.

Round 1: Halloween Hallows, 9 players (it will be crowded and chaotic)
Round 2: Salem Switch, 8 players
Round 3: USA New England, 7 players
Round 4: USA 2.1, 6 players
Round 5: South America, 5 players
Round 6: Europa, 4 players
Round 7: Africa, 3 players
Round 8: Far East, 2 players (Division championship)
Round 9: World 2.1, 2 players (Tournament championship)

What's the purpose of round 7? No one seems to be eliminated there?

Before I had a typo with two round 7s, which I fixed. What will happen is there will be two divisions, each with nine players in each. By round 7, each division will have three players left and whoever of the three is eliminated first doesn't move on to round 8. Round 8 pits the last two in the division against each other and in round 9 the winner of each of the two divisions face off to determine the tournament champion.
