The Battle for Middle Earth
Welcome to the revival of The Battle for Middle Earth Tournament. I am taking it over and getting it out of the gate. This is a fairly large tournament, so let's have some fun!!!
This tournament will feature 62 players, divided amongst twelve divisions by
player score as of June 10th for the
first round only (this date may be extended if enrollment is not complete by June 10th). Following the first round the advancing players will be slotted as seen below.
The divisions will be named as follows: Dwarf, Men, Elf, Troll, Ent, Hobbit, Dragon, Wizard, Orc, Gollum, Goblin, Bombadill.
First Round: The five players of each division will play six, six player games against each other in two sets of three games each. The scoring for the first round games is:
1st: 5 pts
2nd: 4 pts
3rd: 2 pts
4th: 1 pt
5th: 1 pt
6th: 0 pts
At the completion of the first round games
the top three from each division as determined by score will advance to the second round.
Second Round: The top three teams from two divisions:
Dwarf - Dragon;
Men - Wizard;
Elf - Orc;
Troll - Gollum;
Ent - Goblin and
Hobbit - Bombadill will once again play six games (6 player Standard) against each other (also in two sets of three). At the beginning of the second round the scores will be zeroed and scoring will follow the same pattern as the first round games with
the top three in scoring at the end of the second round from each group advancing to the third round.
Third Round: The top three players from each of the second round groups will be regrouped once more for another 6 game series (two sets of 3). Scoring will follow the same pattern as previous rounds.
The top two players from each of these groups will advance to the final round.
Final Round: All final round qualifiers will be placed into a single six-player group to play the final six game series (two sets of three). Scoring is the same, with the highest score walking away as
KING OF MIDDLE EARTH.
***NOTES***
All games will be played on the Middle Earth Map with Standard, Sequential, Flat Rate, Unlimited settings.
Tiebreakers: 1. First place finishes 2. Second place finishes 3. Third place finishes 4. Best of three coin toss by organizer of tournament. (Let's all pray it doesn't come to that).
Due to the somewhat HIGH GAME LOAD of this tournament it is advisable that participants have PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP in order to prevent a hold up of games. If a player wishes to play and does not have a premium membership they must be willing to leave three slots open at all times from the start of the tournament in order to accommodate the games.
As organizer I reserve the right to replace players if they do not join the games in a timely fashion.
