How are the new mods doing?

Not having viable mobile option for turn taking is a real pain. I can't just take a few turns during a spare 10minutes at work, I have to wait until I'm in front of my computer. Games like Hive and Conquerman are almost impossible to play properly from a mobile.

The bigger maps will never play well on a tiny screen. There's just too much to show. Half a dozen people have tried to solve the problem of making a CC app and all have failed, primarily because there's too much that needs to be on the screen. If you're serious about playing mobile, you'll have to specialize in smaller maps.

The smaller maps do play well on a phone I'm told. I can't say. I use phones for calling people; I've never had a phone with a data plan. But there are people like IcePack and EBConquer who play on their phones a lot, and report that with the smaller maps at least, it's pretty smooth.

Get rid of the art of maps and treat the maps like what they are - vertices with values. All you need to display is the vertices and their connections and their values. You could play a Hive game on a phone if it is fog and they hide all the ? marks. Likewise, you could play just by reading the text map and then submitting your order via text. I bet CC would run on phones if it was written for a gopher browser.

I could run the whole game in a spreadsheet if I had to, and spreadsheet programs work fairly well for phones.

The art of the maps looks great until you start dumping a bunch of multicolored 3s and white ?s all over it.

As a side note, they should allow for map skins to be user made with no foundry process. You can upload your own skins for the map and just play with them.
