I'm curious, for the leftists on the board, how do you view the solutions to these attacks?

for example, rightists generally seem to be of the opinion "don't let any Middle Easterns into the country and then bomb the hell out of them". I highly disagree with that but at least it's a concrete, actuable solution.

I don't think I'm familiar to any leftist proposed solutions other than "ban guns" which I'm not sure if that'll help really (I mean, most of the damage done tonight was done with a truck, can't outlaw that...)

There is a big difference between this attack and those before it: it was carried out in a way that required very little in a way of preparation or resources on behalf of the terrorists and yet it caused massive loss of life.

You speak of ISIS but, as far as I know they have not make the claim nor has French police found any proof connecting the killer with any terrorist organization.

All that is really known is that all it took to kill 84 people was one guy and one rented truck.

It's not a rightist or leftist thing. There's no way we can stop lone wolf attacks with political rhetoric BS.

Of course, if these attacks continue in France, there's going to be a HUGE backlash against the Muslim community in France. The Muslims need to self-police their own and weed out the radicals, or the MAJORITY of French citizens will be whipped into a frenzy of REAL HATE.

ISIS is being squeezed in Iraq and Syria. They are losing ground and their leaders are being killed. ISIS can't even pay their fighters.

All they have are a few militants who can kill civilians and police in Europe and Turkey. Europe went through this with the Red Army and the Palistinians in the 70s and 80s.

Europe will survive this, but it's the Muslim communities that will suffer from the mistrust from all these terrorist attacks.

The Muslim community must come together and root these radicals out for their own good.
