Perhaps in due course.

For now, let's say I have never despised any other clans or players so much. They are toxic to the clan world.

We are dealing with it. Please refrain from any further incendiary remarks.

I've locked the PD and SD threads until further notice.

I WILL LEAVE THIS OPEN FOR OTHER DISCUSSION TO CONTINUE.

However, any continued discussion relating to the two appeals on my desk will be deleted and get this thread locked until I've had time to review the situation.

This is the only warning this thread will receive on the matter.

I have been finding it too much work to check that we are sticking to the "three times a map is used" rule so we are hosting random maps.

Is anyone else finding it difficult to keep track?

Is the rule being checked?

We planned all the rounds of the CL7 before it started. So we know exactly which maps has been used how many times.
If you don't plan all before, you can also put it at every turn in a table, and then it's not so much work to write it down 8 maps per turn, then you have a table that tell you which one has been used 3 times already.
Would take a bit more time to do it now that we are at the end ofc.

As Donelladan said, it's not that much work if you register your map use every round.

Is the rule being checked? Basically the idea is that you check your opponent's map use. Some do, some don't. I do a random check now and then. This last round FALL had to remake a game because of using a map 4 times (accidentally, I may add).

Very easy if you put them on a spreadsheet every two weeks.

I don't check our opponent's maps. I'm sure CDs said earlier that they keep an eye on the map limits.

We did for CL6, but it's way too much work to do so for every clan, every round. Like I said above, I do random checks now and then, that's it.

Not sure whether it would be a good idea to check the map usage of the clans finishing in the top 3 positions at the end of the league ? (a bit like checking for doping at the end of sport competitions ;-) ) - that would be much less work from your part, and it would minimize the risk for opportunistic clans ;-) 'Infraction' of the rule (no more than 3x per map) by the 3 clans making the podium would have to be penalized somehow.

Just a thought.

We can always try finding a way that works better in the off season. We've had a few things come up / ideas on how to improve things possibly in the future.

Perhaps we will have some good / cool news for CL8, we will see :)

Like if the 4th/5th teams from top of second division tie on same points and bottom of 4th/5th teams from Div 1 are also tied, you will move 5 up/down, not 4??? ;)

Promotion / Relegation is one topic that's started in the CDF for discussion, to hear feedback on potential changes.

He was joking Ice. :-)

For the record: Potential changes would be for CL8 and not CL7.

Re: [CL7] Clan League VII - Main Thread (PD: LHDD - SD: TOP)

Postby Lindax on Sun Jun 19, 2016 12:03 pm

This is the ranking of clans after CL7. The bottom 4 clans of the Premier Division are relegated to the Second Division. The top 4 clans of the Second Division are promoted to the Premier Division, see further below:

Premier Division

1.- LHDD
2.- FALL
3.- TOFU
4.- OSA
5.- FOED
6.- S&M
7.- ACE
8.- TNC

9.- RET
10.- GON
11.- OLE
12.- MMM/EGAD

Second Division

1.- TOP
2.- PACK
3.- ATN
4.- ATL

5.- AFOS
6.- PHNX
7.- ID
8.- SOH
9.- HH
10.- VDLL
11.- FAD
12.- FISO
13.- KNT
14.- VVV

This would be the 2 CL8 divisions if the same clans participate:

Premier Division

1.- LHDD
2.- FALL
3.- TOFU
4.- OSA
5.- FOED
6.- S&M
7.- ACE
8.- TNC
9.- TOP
10.- PACK
11.- ATN
12.- ATL

Second Division

1.- RET
2.- GON
3.- OLE
4.- MMM/EGAD
5.- AFOS
6.- PHNX
7.- ID
8.- SOH
9.- HH
10.- VDLL
11.- FAD
12.- FISO
13.- KNT
14.- VVV

-

If we do not get enough clans for 2 divisions for CL8, or one or more Premier Division clans do not sign up for CL8, the above promotions and/or relegations will be adjusted.

I know, yeah. We'll certainly be glad to see the back of them for a year.

Seems to me that three up and three down would be more suitable.
Or you could even have a playoff between the 4th & 4th bottom clans.
In this case Retribution vs Atlantis. Now that would be exciting!

There is a CL8 discussion thread up in the CDF forum where this is being discussed by the clan representatives: viewtopic.php?f=699&t=218595

Well, you were the only clan to beat us home and away.
Even in our run to winning the Random League we could only manage a draw with you ballers.
We could maybe call you FOED's bogey clan. Although, there are of course some strong gangs coming up from the 2nd... 8-[

Greetings,
Lindax and the rest of the Clan Team would like to give special recognition and say thank you to the following people:

TOFU, Kexor
RET, The_Samurai
S&M, Fishydance
LHDD, Momo33
FISO, Updalions

These clans / individuals above all others managed to participate in CL7 Premier and Second Divisions, without any issues, reminders, warnings, or deadlines missed. Their exceptional efforts help make this years event run smoothly, and I know Lindax is ever grateful for their hard work.

I have sent the above referenced players a small token of our thanks, thanks to everyone for participating and making this years CL7 a successful and memorable one. The MVP's for Premier Division have been announced, and once the Second Division MVP is announced I will be awarding 1,200 credits prize to each of them.

A special thanks from myself to Lindax, for all his hard work in running the event! And to Mudpuppy for his valuable assistance to Lindax helping to make sure things run smoothly, and to Keefie who assisted with the event and database tasks. I know none of this is easy and takes up much of our time spent volunteering here on CC, and am grateful for your efforts.

Cheers
