I'd like to enroll for training as it seems that's the only way to get "Training Achievement" medal.

Looks like we should have SoC as in Society of Colonels... LOL.

Should probably keep that to yourself as we don't like to waist time with medal hunters... :-$

Actually, there should be "a test" which you have to pass to get the medal (it wouldn't matter if you're cook or major)... something like certification you're good enough and same for everyone. Less complications for all of us and enrolled students can get their satisfaction when they pass the exam.

There is a test at the completion of training.
Grueling......maybe.
Are you still interested?

Well yeah, especially if I can help in the process.

Edit: the interesting thing is ... I was in SoC once already, but never graduated. It was like 5 years ago, but .... I guess all games since then count towards the graduation. Rule #2 says:

Achieve rank of Lieutenant, while earning 25 kills and 5 victories in Training Grounds-style games since joining the Academy.

So I guess I achieved that part, only need to fill 5 posts about asking for help.

Hi there,

I would like to sign up for training. I've played on and off over the years and am finding out that my tactics of trying to gain as much as I can isn't working. Also the dice don't like me :)

Thank you

Hi,

I used to play quite a few years ago and ended up learning through here and doing quite well. I'd like to start playing again, but have forgotten most of the strategies I learnt on here. Is it possible to sign up for training again?! Or, can I play a few games and ask for advice if I get stuck. I think I'll pick it up fairly quickly again.

I left after having a premature baby 6 years ago and not having time to play games anymore. I now have a bit of spare time and would like to play again.

Thanks

Katy

Katy,
While I wait for a response from the higher ups, I would be happy to advise you on a game or 2 and/or we could also play a team game together if that would be of interest.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I've joined a few games to get myself back into it. Waiting for my premium membership to go through at the moment, then I can join a few more games. I've started these games with usual strategy but I think I may need to check with you as I get further into the game. I'm hoping it will all come back to me. Team games too would be great to play. I hope the higher ups say it's ok for you to help me. I used to teach on here years ago, so I must've got ok at the game, just a bit unsure coming back into it after 5/6 years break.

I can definitely advise you on training games; I am just not certain if you can enroll in the Basic Training again. I will send you a doubles invite.

katyrush! Welcome back. Let's put her in the teacher training. That way she'll get some focused advice and can work at her own pace.

I'm doing well. busy at work, trying to keep up with my wife and kids, trying to keep the academy running here. Most of the old gang has moved on now, so it's nice to see you back.

I just got a new message telling me to come here, but is it possible to be taught in 1v1. Or 2v2. I like the idea better of winning a war based on myself rather than how other 3rd parties might play...

Our training format is for 6 person games with students as well as teachers participating.
We are teaching with the following settings:
6 Players
Terminator
Escalating Spoils
Sequential Play
Unlimited Reinforcements

We also teach team play.

I think you will find the experience helpful.

Let me know if you would like to try.
