Mad,

Can you remove King Zvonimir from Team Hydra? He's got too much going on to commit.

I think he would be ok with the BR if it means you don't have to readjust it again, he just doesn't want to start the points part of the competition.

Removed player from your roster.

As a general comment and in regards of the BR, I had one last First Nation to fill using part of the player that was on the game that has bugged, not all player who was into that game will have a slot, I will not create another game with only 22 players (+7 player that fail to join other First nation games). It is way too much time consuming chasing player that either drop or denied invitation, or miss invitation after 24hrs.
Everybody that is not marked "(No BR)" in the main roster (3rd post), will be receiving invitation for the 3rd map BR (Rail South America) today, there is 3 games to fill, so I will fill 2 and with the remaining player I will fill the 3rd game and adjust player accordingly.

Note 1: For those who were into the game that bugged, the point loss was revert to everyone.
Note 2: Those Battle Royale not being part of a Battle Royale tournament, a game win will not count toward your personal medal stats.

Thanks for your understanding, this is a lesson learn and for the closing ceremony I will have the game password given to the Leaders for players to join so game will fill accordingly which should help not wasting time adjusting player amount.

Lucky that was just for fun ;)

Be ready for the real stuff starting Monday with the competition.

I'm in Gymnastics Artisitic Vault.
The thread says round 1 should be automatic, but both of my games were manual.

I know there are a lot of details to put in place for these games, but this kind of stuff is important for a team when choosing players for specific events.

edit:/ I went through the rules in the first post

Settings will be randomly chosen before each round and when all player list from each team are known (using random.org).


So you're basically saying that the settings are decided (well at random...) only after all teams designate the players? Well than that could very well be at random itself...:) Except maybe for the team events when this could be an important factor, but otherwise since it's all a big surprise...:D

Sorry, that was a typo (should be manual but typed automatic), yeah lots of things in short amount of time.

As far the random setting draw its all about fight with your best with only knowing the game type (1v1, Poly, terminator, so on and so forth). That is the way i designed the event, your player selection should be based on the game type.

The 2nd post will have the link for the next sport set as soon as I send the PM to all Leaders which I planned on doing it this weekend, that should give all team a 3 weeks period to get back with the athletes list.

Ah, you are not used to battle royale freestyle game that's all.
You have to consider it's just for fun.
Of course you start with one region and someone might kill you even before you played. But that's because those are crazy, mad, huge games.

But people going for a kill first turn don't win BR at the end, they require skills and timing ( and luck because if you have been eliminated first round you can't win :p ).

It is a surprise. The players have no idea on what map they'll be playing and on what settings (most of...) so there's no element of "selection" involved. BUt since everyonr plays the same rules and it's not good to change the rules midway, I'm OK with that

And speaking about changing the rules and making fog be standard. Personally I do like fog, but in 2 team/sides games or up to 6 players singles maybe ...or, to be more clear, games on which I can follow movements. Now I know there's a whole discussion with people that say there's a definite value when a player is able to play fog whenever (even without snapshots), but well...I don't think so :). Every multiway with fog that I've played turned out either random as heck or turned into a deadlock with a big surprise at game end.

So, in short, I'm not with turning fog as a general rule for all games. Especially when we have some tournaments with a lot of multi way games. The canoe slalom, if I understand it right, involves 12 games with 12 players each, with terminator setting. I would definitely not want to play that with fog. I'm not even happy with the 50% chance of that becoming fog....:lol:

If it's just an organizing issue where you have to make a lot of randomization for this 2 element option and you want to makine it easier with the fog rule, I would make it easier by putting all options into a big list, randomizing it and selecting the first result from each category.

I'm just making guesses here. But if you have to draw settings at random for each round of every tournament, instead of making separate lists for: spoils, reinforcement, deployment, trench and fog and making 5 randomizations, you can put all the options in one big list make just 1 draw and select first option from each category which is the same thing with what you'd do in the 5 draw scenario

That is the reason I'm seeking opinion from you all team leaders, and like I said I don't plan on changing any rules at all, the 1st post was made while ago and anyone had the opportunity to read it and understand what it involve (random map & settings), that is why I mentionned the word "surprise".

As far now make all game either foggy or sunny, and because I care about my "customer/player" that are part of my tournament, I, most of the time, go check the game chat to have a feeling from what I created for the players, those are the voice to make future tournament better and better and also more suitable per their expectation. So in case I have a huge majority of complaint about the layout of my creation I will probably made some tweak, however and for this instance it was isolated case I've read in some game chat but those weren't "angry comment", those were kind of "I wish it would have been...." type of comment that I feel important to consider.

Overall, and so far, I didn't get my PM box blowed with nasty comment about this event so I take that as positive results for now. I think everyone knows that is difficult to have a layout that will fit all player expectation especially when there more than 230 player involved into the same event, so I do appreciate you all time and hopefully enjoying this venture.

About the response from the PM sent to Leaders so far I have not receiving formal wish to make any changes which is a good sign also.
