It's just like real life:
You engage in 1000 conversations, 950 of them will be routine and forgettable, 25 will be unpleasant arguments that you wish you could forget, 20 will actually be fun and yield a good laugh, 4 will actually give you useful information, and 1 will profoundly change your view of the world. The 975 in the first two categories are a small price to pay for the 25 in the last three categories.
