Tournament Format and Points System show
In Chapter I, 20 players will play 3 matches in 4 groups of 5 players. In Assassin games, the winning player will score 4 points. Other surviving players will score 1 point. In Terminator games, the winning player will score 2 points. All players will also score 1 point for each termination. The top 2 players from each group will progress to the next round. plus the two 3rd-placed players with most points*. Players progressing will take half of their points total with them (rounded-up). In Chapter II, 10 players will play 3 matches in 2 groups of 5 players. Points scoring will be as above. The top 2 players from each group will progress to the next round. plus the 3rd-placed player with most points*. Players progressing will NOT take points with them. In Chapter III, 5 players will play 3 matches in a group of 5 players. Points scoring will be as above. The top player will win the tournament. In the event of equal points, the players concerned will undertake a tie-break match. * If necessary players will also be compared on the number of terminations, then number of rounds survived in the chapter in question. If this does not prove to determine qualifying players then a tie-break match will occur.
Settings show
Fog of War will be present in the battles of this volume due to the lack of military intelligence in some eras and interference by alien technology and nuclear fall-out in others. The cryogenically-suspended army are only relatively fast-moving over long distances, therefore adjacents reinforcements will be in place. Due to the unpredictable nature of the SATKOM's improbability drive, spoils will be of varying nature.(Other settings will be Assassin or Terminator, Sequential and Automatic)
Requirements show
Due to the number of simultaneous matches, premium status is a requirement. Players must also have a 95%+ attendance record and have completed 25 matches.
Reserves show
All reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place. In Chapter I, reserves will be sought through the create/join a tournament forum. In Chapters II & III, players who were only just elimiated in the previous chapter will be invited first of all.
Tie Breaks show
Where players have equal points, equal numbers of terminations and rounds survived across all of the matches of any chapter, then a one-match standard tie-break will occur. The map will be the same as the final match of the round. Escalating spoils will be implemented.
The Draw show
Playersā groupings / opponents will be determined by random.org.
Missing Turns show
If a player misses a turn then he cannot score any points in the game in question. If a player deadbeats at any stage then he will be ejected from the tournament.
Joining Matches show
Players will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.
Partnerships / Regular opponents show
Competitors must inform the tournament organiser if they have a regular partner or opponent that is also featuring in the tournament. The organizer can then ensure these competitors do not play together to avoid any potential claims of foul play by other players. If reports of suspected foul play are made and the competitors in question have not declared that they are regular partners / opponents then they will be both be ejected from the tournament without question or the need for irrefutable evidence.
First Turn Fog of War Courtesy Rule show
Where fog of war is present, the competitor who goes first in round 1 must either wait 10 hours before taking their turn, or inform their opponent(s) in game chat of any regions conquered during their first move, and who from. Failure to do either will mean the competitor in question is unable to score any points in the game.
