Question, will people outside this project will later be allowed to make suggestions on the guide so that they can be improved ?

Question 2 : More a remark for you, there is several maps that do not require any strategy guide, I am speaking of basic classic style map. For example Mongol Empire, Far East, Australia, British Isles.
There is nothing to be said on those map, ok we could argue about the bonus with a single border being more interesting, but that's exactly like Oceania bonus in classic.
Since you spoke of 205 maps, I am just curious if you are going to ask people writing guide about those maps, I think it would be a waste of time.

1. Yes. We will publicly post the guides, and anything that is particularly insightful can be added to the guides on an as-needed basis. However, we do want to get the guides as well written the first time.

2. While some maps may not need it in your eyes (or mine either ), I do want this to be a complete strategy guide section, and an ongoing one for maps that come out of Beta/new settings coming into play. For that reason we will be doing all maps- even the basic ones.

Not to be cynical, but that means I am going to be cynical.

The site has much deeper issues that are not going to be resolved by another round of strategy guides that will be inexplicable to newbies and of no value to old hands.

One question is how do you ensure that the best players for a given map actually write it? I would suggest a best of 5 playoff if more than one person is interested (versus a first come first serve)

The project is still running and we are still accepting people to help write the guides if anyone is interested.

So far we did not have the problem that two persons want to write the same guide.
In any case once the guide is written anyone can give comments to improve the guide, a lot of cooperation is expected.

I'd join the project. And to be more specific, since I don't have a lot of experience on all the maps, I'd write some info about Austerlitz (fog, trench would be my choosing for optimal settings and on which I could supply some insight)

Was going through my Control Panel -> Usergroups tab and I've noticed you've set up a usergroup for this (or maybe I've just been invited and the group was there).

How are things about this going? Do we have anything to start with/from? Or we're still in the organizing process?

Well, if you are a member of this usergroup, you have a specific forum at the top about strategy guide, and you'll see what we are doing.
We have started, one guide has been made public already, many are almost finished and only need reviewing, it is going on, a bit slowly because I don't have that much time at the moment to review all the guides.
