Some groups have 14 games whilst others have 13. It says that top 32 advance from overall field. This seems unfair to those who have less games.

The reason is because of having drop outs, not sure if there is a suitable way to make it more fair let me think on it.

I assumed the bye would just be an automatic win. I think that's the only fair thing to do. We've had non-eliminated players not show up for their games, too. If you don't count the byes as wins, do you go back and not count the deadbeats? If so, what about someone who plays 1 turn, then deadbeats? If so, what about missing the first 2, then coming back? There just isn't a fair way to do it other than to credit the players who drew byes with a win for that game that never happened.

Also, thanks for fixing the scoreboard issue.

There are currently 4 freemium players still supposedly active in the tournament, although 1 has definitely left the site. Also, pretty sure josko isn't playing at the moment.

The "record" column does not contain the record of the first 14 games.

And seeing some people with only 13 complete games also kind of trigger my OCD. Can't they just have 1 win awarded so an 11/13 record actually reads 12/14?

The first set of games I had not learned the ins and outs of the auto tournament setup so they were sent out manually. I will look into the score issue but not sure if that is probable.

I understand.

But I see this tournament (unlike other official ones like doubles and triples) do not have the "score resets" clause, which means scores of previous rounds carry over to future rounds. I take it you're including the manually created set of games in the final score tally in order to see who advances and who doesn't?

Now I see a note (hidden in "spoilers") saying wins do reset after each round. Is the auto-tournament properly coded, though?

The bracket phase is coded correctly, this round did not have the reset score enabled, but those advancing will be by the scores of this round!

As this round wraps, just wanted to note that on the AT page the next round is incorrectly listed as "round robin." It should be "seeded by score" instead.

I think the picture is getting clearer.

With 6 games remaining, agentcom is getting 2 more wins, JPlo64 is beating mcshanester29, jghost7 is beating JPlo64, jtile1 is beating osman76 and the jghost7 x iAmCaffeine game is undecided.

This means standing will end this way:

1 - Agentcom - 13
2 - Rodion - 12
3 through 5 - Fyrdraca / dkmaster / Armandolas - 11
6 through 9 - JBlombier / Mudpuppy / jtile1 / shaneback - 10
10 through 13 - hmsps / pearljamrox2 / Endgame422 / *Pixar* - 9
14 through 17 - osman76 / Lord_Bremen / schiballs / winner of iAmCaffeine and jghost7's game - 8

First tiebreaking criterium is "Head to Head games played throughout the tournament". Do note that each player has 14 games that are untallied in the auto tournament page, but which should be counted towards H2H, if applicable.

Second tiebreaking criterium is "Number of Wins going second", which I believe only considers this round (otherwise it'd say "throughout the tournament").

Can anyone help with digging data and breaking those ties? :D

Thanks!

3 through 5 - Fyrdraca, dkmaster and Armandolas (I may have miscounted things. If so, I'm sorry and please let me know so we correct it asap!)

H2H

Fyrdraca 1 x 0 Armandolas
Fyrdraca 0 x 0 dkmaster
dkmaster 3 x 0 Armandolas

At this point, tiebreaking could go 2 different routes:
a) consider H2H non-applicable because Fyrdraca never played dkmaster and move to the next procedure
b) conclude that Armandolas is #5 because he got swept by all others, and move to the next procedure only between Fyrdraca and dkmaster, winner getting #3 and loser getting #4

Interesting read: http://www.quickscores.com/Orgs/Head-To ... reaker.pdf

Wins going second

Fyrdraca - 11 wins, 5 going second (San Marino, Triple Alliance, USA Southwest. King's Court, City Mogul)
dkmaster - 11 wins, 4 going second (Fractured America, Conquerman, 2011 WC, Rail USA)
Armandolas - 11 wins, 4 going second (Fractured China, Patch Wars, Europe, Soviet Union)

Regardless of how you treat the H2H situation, Fyrdraca will eventually claim #3 when it gets to the "wins going second" criterium, which then resets tiebreaking to H2H between dkmaster and Armandolas, giving dkmaster #4 and Armandolas #5.

However, it is still important to know how to calculate H2H between multiple teams, as that could make a difference in seeding the other players (which I won't do now, since I'm tired - I hope someone else will :p ).

Mudpuppy 0 x 0 shaneback

I believe it is seeded by total of tournament wins. My 11 wins, or your 12 , is just for the last round.

You're correct, sir Armandolas, pardon.

Then I'm guessing tiebreaker will only serve to determine which of those tied for 14th-17th is actually the 17th, then he is eliminated and the 16 that qualified are seeded by total tournament score (which forces us to dig the results of the 14 non-tallied games of all the 16 that advance).

I think I was 10-4 in those games, which would make me 31/43.

Something else that must be done is give all those that only have 42 games (28 before those 14 are added) 1 extra win due to deadbeats, so Fyrdraca 18/28, should actually read 19/29 plus whatever his performance on the opening 14 games were.

After all that is done, then we process another round of tiebreakers, this time for everyone that is tied.

Rodion = 21/29 + 10/14 = 31/43
Fyrdraca = 18/28 + 9/13 = 27/41 (29/43?)
JBlombier = 18/29 + 10/13 = 28/42 (29/43?)
MudPuppy = 17/28 + 10/14 = 27/42 (28/43?)
hmsps = 20/28 + 7/11 = 27/39 (31/43?)
pearljamrox2 = 18/28 + 9/14 = 27/42 (28/43?)
jltile1 = 18/29 + 10/14 = 28/43 (assuming win over osman76)
Endgame422 = 15/29 + 10/13 = 25/42 (25/43?)
osman76 = 14/29 + 10/12 = 24/41 (26/43?) (assuming loss against jltile1)

agentcom = 22/29 + 7/12 = 29/41 (31/43?) (assuming 2 wins)
dkmaster = 20/29 + 7/13 = 27/42 (28/43?)
Armandolas = 19/29 + 6/14 = 25/43
shaneback = 16/29 + 7/12 = 23/41 (25/43?)
*Pixar* = 18/29 + 7/13 = 25/42 (26/43?)
Lord_Bremen = 17/29 + 7/13 = 24/42 (25/43?)
schiballs = 13/29 + 8/13 = 21/42 (22/43?)
iAmCaffeine = 18/29 + 6/13 = 24/42 (25/43?) (assuming win over jghost7)
jghost7 = 20/29 + 7/14 = 27/43 (assuming wins over iAmCaffeine and JPlo64 and loss against agentcom)

1 through 3 - Rodion, hmsps, agentcom (31 wins)
4 through 5 - Fyrdraca and JBlombier (29 wins)
6 through 9 - MudPuppy, pearljamrox2, jltile1, dkmaster (28 wins)

After this point, all bets are off because we need to know who wins between Caffeine and Ghost, and also which of the 8-win players is eliminated at 17th

Are we counting "number of wins going second" in the current round or throughout the whole tournament? Seems like a big burden to tally those regardless, although one is definitely more of a burden than the other. :?

I suppose it should, but fact is we have only 29 games tallied (some people have 27-28) instead of the correct 43. I suspect the auto tournament will not be able to properly seed without manual intervention.
