This Idea that mafia choose not to kill while possible is highly unlikly in my book.

Mafia would have no idea if there is or is not a doc. They do know that there is a very strong likely hood that there may or may not be a cop because A) They are mafia and knew at the time that MP was Town when he claimed and B) That whomever hammered him was Town as well.

A Town has already been lynched day one. A successful night kill assures that if a mislynch occurs today mafia wins.

Also keep in mind that 4 votes are needed to lynch today by no one dying. A successful night kill assures that with only 5 players alive three votes are needed.

I find it highly unlikly scum would say "hey lets not kill someone so they think there's a doc in game" when its easier to win the game by killing someone.

It depends entirely upon who claims Doc.

I'm also not sure how to take IB's cop claim. His actions laying down the final vote on Mudpuppy were completely out of character, all his posts are well thought through and dont contain mistakes. So how did he mange to add up the votes incorrectly AND also miss the cop claim? Or did he in fact notice that Mud claimed cop and also that no one counter claimed? The lack of a counter claim meant that either IB did make a genuine mistake and is the cop, or has as mafia taken upon the role knowing no one can challenge?

In my eyes it has cleared you, Storr, of any suspicion. I can't see why IB would use the cop claim to fake clear a mafia partner. You were the obvious choice to cop check seeing as you did push the vote for mudpuppy strongly without actually voting, which adds quite a bit to IB's claim of being cop.

The only sensible thing for a doc to have done last night, is to protect themselves. Anything else was pot luck. In which case, I can only expect that End is the doc after the early slip up and was targeted by the mafia as such. This would leave Virus and Slander as Mafia, which has some credibility. If you look back through day 1 they mostly stayed out of each others way, apart from near the end when Slander reads Virus as "Hard town" having not included him with Storr, End and WCG in his early town choices. Also is it just me, but did he keep referring to town as a seperate entity that he might not be part of?

He didn't miss it. He clearly states this day it was a ploy to lynch MP with out claiming himself as the real cop.

OK as I stated earlier the "mistake" was a farce. I knew exactly what I was doing when I voted MP. I did so believing he was mafia and that I was hammering mafia. I believed the other mafia would second guess himself. I did not expect him to flip Town. MP made a huge newbie mistake by lying about his claim. I think I have argued with Storr in the past about this BUT this is a prime example of why you do not do that.

Second the notion that the Doc can heal himself is wrong. I have never ever played a game where a doc can heal himself, it would make the role to overpowering. You are creating false scenarios based this assumption.

I am however believing more and more that Wing may be Town.

I then voted Slander for this. Slander immediately unvoted trying to claim innocence. Which I fell for.

You have a point though: my vote is suspect at best, harmful at worst. I'm trying my best to acquire some kind of read here, but I honestly feel like I have no idea who the trash might be.

I only threw out a vote because I saw "Vote count tomorrow" posted by mod. I understand now that this meant just a tally, not an actual vote.

Sorry, but I haven't changed my mind on this. For a while it seemed to me that MP was just riding the discussion out, waiting to see how it would unfold. But now he's just gone into full damage control mode. The lack of productive contributions he's made here is frightening. If he's not mob, he's at worst a useless member of the Town.

Finally Slander came back and remade his initial claim, with very little added to it. I voted for Mudpuppy based on his tunnelvision of you, but didnt notice that Slander displayed exactly the same tendency towards Mudpuppy. He was the first to vote for Mud, and didnt really explain why at any point.

For the record It has been standard CC mafia play that doc can not heal self. I have never played with a self heal doc and I have played a lot of games here. Seems a tad unfair in my book that they can hide till really needed but then again this has been a game of surprises for me. You are correct in your observation Wing. My mistake.

The alternative to a self heal doc, is that both Mafia and the doc made the same conclusion as to who the cop was.

My problem with this is that I dont think anyone stood out yesterday as a clear choice, so the likelyhood seems low on this happening.

I return to my previous comment - I think its best to wait and see what Slander, Virus and End claim.

Slander would be top. My gut says virus for something he did, that I do not think he is aware of what he did...or maybe he did and thought he was sly in doing it.

Many times I do not trust my gut but my first instinct on slander is he is the fresh newbie who drew mafia and so wants to act Town and is gung ho to hunt scum. He makes several newbie mistakes but is able to hide behind the newbie card YET he comes across as a seasoned logical vet. He has played a very good game for a new comer.

Endgame I have leaned Town all game...have done some what ifs but out of the three he would be Town.

But hey nothing is written in stone.

Wow, I thought for sure this would be a long apology post for costing us the game with my stupid crusade against MP. I am happy to see I didn't screw us. In fact, it sounds as if our odds are still pretty damn good.

I am being put on trial in a way that I'm not sure I can defend myself against. Voting MP was a moronic move that I only made because it was requested that I put a vote up. The deadline was approaching and MP was continuing to act like a weirdo. At the same time, I didn't feel like being controlled by a more experienced Mob player in my first game. When I submitted that vote I had no idea that he would be lynched before I logged on again.

I am very convinced IB is telling the truth, but at the same time I'd like to hear from the other players before casting any real judgement on the matter. I think what really matters here is what the doctor has to say, since I can plainly see with my own eyes that he's saved someone.
