You may not know this, but I am actually a ballet dancer and choreographer.
I mention this because I have just finished choreographing a piece set to music written by a college roommate.
The music is called "Return to Venezia" (you can listen to a version of it
here), and it's about the composer's desire for his native country of Hong Kong to remain a Western, capitalist nation, instead of submitting to the Communism of mainland China.
This tournament is not going to dwell on the politics inherent in that desire.
Instead, players will "Return to Venezia" in a slightly more literal sense - by making their way from Hong Kong to Italy by way of China, India, and the Middle East.
How it works:All games will use CC's default settings, with fog and a 20-round limit.
Round 1: Each group plays 1 5-player Standard game on Hong Kong, first player eliminated from each game is eliminated from the tournament.
Round 2: Each group plays 1 4-player Standard game on Greater China, first player eliminated from each game is eliminated from the tournament.
Round 3: Each group plays 1 3-player Standard game on Indian Empire, first player eliminated from each game is eliminated from the tournament.
Round 4: Each player plays 1 1v1 game on Middle East, loser of each game is eliminated from the tournament.
Round 5: 1 Terminator game on Italy. If winner has most kills, he/she wins the tournament. Otherwise, the winner and the player with the most kills will play a 1v1 on Europe, and the winner of that game wins the tournament.
Groups will be re-randomized at the start of each round.
The only tiebreaker used will be the number of rounds you were able to last in the last round you played in.
As always, feel free to ask any questions you may have, and good luck!
