Welcome to the largest CC event ever!

How to Play:
There are approx 30 autotournaments running on a schedule from July 20th-Aug 3rd.
You can join each tournament once.
First place gives 1 gold medal, 2nd is 1 silver, 3rd is Bronze.

There are a few major tournaments that you join to win Platinum Medals!

Some of the events will give out Participation Ribbons.

Scoring System
Platinum Medal 10 points
Gold Medal 5 points
Silver Medal 3 points
Bronze Medal 1 point

PRIZES:
Individual Scoreboard
First Place - Red Star
Second Place - Green Star
Third Place to 5th Place - Blue Star
6th Place - 10th Place - Yellow Star

For winning at least 30 points, one gets a Challenge Achievement Medal.
For winning at least 11 points, one gets a General Achievement Medal.

Usergroup Scoreboard
First Place - Group gets a custom color for their names for six months!

Country Scoreboard
Pride for the country's citizens!

Please note that every medal you score counts for every usergroup you are in and the country you are registered for.
This information will be taken based on the first day of the event. Any issues (changing country or usergroup) will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

There are 10 participation ribbons you can collect. The events that hand them out aren't listed, so you have to keep guessing.
If you collect all 10, you get a Blue Star.
9 = yellow
8 = pink
7 = cyan
6 = orange

The Opening Ceremonies start tonight at 9 PM and run until noon tomorrow.
At midnight, speed tournaments will start and will be open for 24 hours. A new one will start every day of the event.
At noon, a casual tournament will enter signups.

When one of the autos fills, another one will be created within the hour after it fills.

The major tournaments will be entering signups soon, I will post all links to them here.

It looks to me like a particular KIND of autotournament launches every day. As soon as one fills another of the same kind is created. You can only join one per kind / one per day.
There are also speed tournaments running the same way - one kind each day... you can only join one per day.
But of course you can join a new casual auto-tournament and a new speed auto-tournament every 24 hour cycle (casual is noon-noon, speed is midnight-midnight). Otherwise how would you collect the 10 different participation ribbons?

When u say different "kind" or tourney, could u be more specific. I joined the opening ceremonies, so is that the only one of its kind? And do u chose a country or is it automatic?

Correct. The 10 participation ribbons were randomly assigned. 8 to the autotournaments and 2 to the major tournaments.

Starting at midnight, there will always be 2 types of autos running.

For the most part, yes. Many tournaments have too many games for freemiums and many have a speed game requirement.

You can only join 1 opening Ceremonies. That same tournament will keep opening up and filling, so everyone has a chance to join. Just after midnight, the MegaBarge Racing will open. You can join 1 MegaBarge Racing tournament. On and on, for the 2 weeks. Country is based on your country, although it is static, so if you are moving around, it is based on the IP address you used to log in today.

Then I looked at the clock and decided it was really stupid to join right now when I should be headed to bed.
If I unjoin can I still join later today, or did I use up my ONE chance to join BegaBarge Racing?

So if I join all 30 tournaments and place 3-4th in ALL of them... I would get 30 points. I would have to WIN 10 of the 30 to get 50 points from gold medals...
This is quite a challenge!
(I know my math is rather fuzzy)

Thanks for adjusting it, Doom. I will feel very successful if I score 1x gold, 1x silver, and 3x bronze for a GA medal!

EDIT: I imagine you will be able to track how this progresses and if the highest scoring person has like 15 points adjust accordingly.

I'm in Canada, my internet provider is Canadian, and my IP location is in Canada, yet CC still thinks I'm in the USA. So I'm hoping it can be put on record that I'm playing for my home country!

I'm confused by the scoring, Morleyjoe and i got a silver and a bronze, which is 4 pts total when you look at the individual scoring, but under usergroups, Atlantis only has 2 pts (we are both in Atlantis)

It's a 2-player touranement that has 8 players.

Note: We just switched from 16 p tournaments for the speeders to 8 since the 16s were having a hard time filling.

I will take a stab at this as I'm not sure doom understood your question. Either that or i don't.

There are many two player events in the olympics too, such as boxing. They have bronze medals. The way you do it is to play one opponent at one time and the loser is eliminated and the winner advances. Eventually you get down to four players. The two winners from those "semi-final" games will get silver and gold, and the two losers will fight for bronze.

Did that do it?
