Also f*ck I am confused with time right now. Whats the difference between ET and CC-post-timestamps?

Because the time lord timedick cut the day off what 48+ hours early on D1? Does that mean we could have only 8 hours to come to a decision?

Er nvm worked it out. I am correct we could only have ~8 hours to work this out I think. Though it may only be an every-other-night ability I guess.

Hrmmmmmm....... Well I guess I get reading...

52 hours EARLY, actually... potentially 2 hours and change to go if D2 were to end 52 hours early.

We're just about out of time now with the majority of the discussion centering around Jak again and I believe him to be town at this point. We haven't gotten any other cases going (part of that is my fault I realize) but the tunnelling on Jak in the last 3 pages is a bit much. Especially considering we only have 3 people really pushing on Jak atm. 20 players left and we're going to let 5 people decide another's fate?

As far as betiko goes, I haven't verified his activity in other threads assuming they're true is damning. I don't care that you're disinterested in the lousy cases of D1. All D1 cases are boring to just about everyone except for people involved starting/defending the case. If you feel that way then start your molehill. It's more fun to come up with your own ideas for pressuring someone than piggybacking on another's case, isn't it?

The fact that both D1 and N1 ended prematurely should be another motivator to get caught up as quickly as possible since players have now focused some of their attention on you. After reading up to page 24, we get this:

betiko wrote:Read all the way till page 24 so. Still 6 pages gap...
Wtf move by jak. His meta is consistent to what i remember from him in the matrix game where he was neo and it gave him this fuzzy feeling of power and domination. 4 actions and you use the kill on night 1 for no reason seriously... Brilliant!

Fp

Tldr for tonight jak

Surely you can committ to more than 2-3 sentences from the volumes of posts that buried you previously. You didn't have much to say D1 afterall. The issue lies in getting 9 votes to really pressure betiko into claim territory. Jak was kind enough to claim with only 5 votes yesterday, I'm not sure we can expect that going forward. I suspect that if betiko does claim, most people will unvote immediately anyway....

so what will you do if i claim anyway? you'll still lynch me because of the deadline. I can be more helpfull to town in that case with my role revealed after my death, town can aanalyse the votes on me.

And blablabla day 1.... I'm usually one of the most actives if not the most active even on day 1. I just felt like this game started a bit too fast and that i've only been on the catching up phase most of the time. The more player get eliminated the easier it will be easy and interesting for me to play this, if you want total honesty.

I just find it funny that you have found "numerous reasons" to vote for me when it's just an activity matter. Tell me KGB. What would you do with my claim? Are you really expecting me to claim, or is your agenda just to get me lynched no matter my alignment?

regarding jak: I don't know I tend to believe him, even if I could give good chances for him to be third party. But I would be very surprised if he is mafia, that would be a hell of an odd move.

Well I am not going to have time before then to do anything meaningful. Let alone putting together an alternate case that will get discussed and gain momentum.

I don't want to lynch jak.

I could compromise vote Betiko but I have only skimmed so really need to see whos comfortable with lynching him and weather I am comfortable sheeping them.

FWIW my hunches from the late page 24 and page 25 pressure on jak are as follows (disclaimer: this is not considering later pages so could potentially be subject to change):
- jmac: lean scum (super opportunistic vote with nothing more than "policy lynch anyone who is anti-town"; if this was the case you should have FoS'd nearly everyone in this game)
- rodion: lean town (builds a rationale using the most important pro-town aspect of Zivels death: the reads we should be drawing from Zivs few interactions and reads - i.e. the last sentence)
- edoc: lean town (his post matches how I feel about the jak thing)
- Hotshot and Nark: Null (nothing in either post, though that in itself puts me a little on edge)
- aage: Null (the first half gives me a scum vibe simply because its a big ole wall of information and speculation with no real value to it, but offset by a town vibe from the second bit where he correctly analyses what was so wrong about jaks vig; not sold on the conclusion though...)
- SW: lean scum (same justification as jmac and then launches into some mechanics speculation which is more of a distraction than useful - this confirmation bias makes me think his whole activity thing is simply to appear town, but as I say pure confirmation bias: i have neve played with SW so can someone who has played with him as town tell me if this kind of thing is typical?)

You got my vote because it is completely against your meta. You offers nothing for two days while others have said you are active other places. You have however let slip that you have indeed been following along. Claiming in this game really serves little purpose as ones alignment is more important and dictates a lynch.

Nope. "I ve been on the catching up phase most of the time" meaning that when I started the game I felt like I missed the jump start. When I had over 6 pages to catch up with people arguing for silly things and splitting hair I started losing feet and not visiting the thread, now I m back.

"It is completely against your meta" is an idiotic argument. You ve played me as town, third party and mafia annd you know that my activity level has never depended on my alignment, so trying to connect dots there is mental masturbation. And no, I haven't been following along, you are making up stuff.

I m not going to blame you because I always try to hunt inactives, and given that you have often had little activity in several of our games I ve often done it to you.

If you had been keeping up, you would have seen that jak claimed yesterday because the deadline was coming up, and he convinced enough people to survive so far. Right now you are tied with jak... if by claiming you convince even one person to drop their vote before the deadline, you are safe. I have no idea how waiting until you are lynched for us to see your role helps us at all... and makes it a lot more likely we see it by your lynch. Your continued disinterest in contributing won't make me or anyone else drop their vote on you.

I agree... as of now there are 12 votes... meaning 8 people haven't voted yet. Do you favor one of the current cases being lynched? Have a new case? Rather a no-lynch? Pick something. If anyone goes the first 2 days without voting... they will be first on my list to look at tomorrow for scummarizers.

For me it is easy.... Jak is just acting like Jak. I hate to board that bandwagon. Betiko, I don't know well enough, but I honestly can't defend days of activity on the forums without posting in the game thread. You don't wanna play, don't frigging sign up. You don't get to pick and choose when to be active. Moderators spend a lot of time making their games and trying to make them fun for all involved. I know this is especially true of PCM. I think it is terribly rude to just flake and then act like that is not a negative roleplaying aspect.

So...

Vote Betiko

At least some apologies may get you somewhere, but acting indignant does not.

Sorry had to quote that, I lost it when I read what I highlighted. =D>

But seriously, claim bud. The way this game runs is highest votes will be lynched and deadline is not 100% deadline with this clock role involved.

I really AM curious about the clock role the more I think about it. I mean, speed time up, sure. What about stop time or reverse time? If we accidentally kill a strong town PR can time be reversed to save them?

I'd love to be able to get enough pressure on Nebuch to get something out of him, but it's just not going to happen.

I dont like the jak wagon.

I am meh (meh as in I dont really like policy lynches) on the Betiko wagon and his recent posting doesn't push me either way; I mean his posts don't have a scummy vibe to them, but he also hasn't really come up with much content outside other than a couple of sentences and his own defence.

Betiko: Have you caught up to the point where you think you will contribute more D3? I am tempted to give you a pass until tomorrow, but I will happily lynch you with fire tomorrow if you continue the same crap.

Other wagons I haven't looked at simply because I dont see them as feasible if we are coming to deadline. However if we dont get a tick tick tick post in the next few hours I will look at them (its 4pm where I am so will have a look tonight if day hasn't ended).

When was the last time Nark posted? Maybe I just missed it but I didn't notice any posts from him over the last few pages.

Anyways, I rushed this a bit, please let me know if I forgot to update anyone who reported:

strike wolf wrote:

15. Neb>Jak
16. KGB->IB
17. Edoc>Neb
18. Sheep->Jonty125

Those who are not currently voting (according to latest vote count):

5. Lootifer
12. WHatsausage
14. Tails
15. Neb
18. Sheep
19. betiko

So the ones who are also not voting and haven't participated in this are:

5. Lootifer-Seems to have just gotten back. Active over the last day.
12. Whatsausage-last post Saturday. Doesn't appear entirely inactive. Will look into him more.
14. Tails-Not much. Seems reasonably active. Don't remember anything that stood out to me as odd.
18. Sheep-Sheep is sheep.
19. Betiko-Short paragraph below.

So honestly, Betiko's last few posts do not reassure. I will admit that it doesn't fit his meta but that's what I've been saying all along. I don't think that's a sufficient shield though and considering he was posting often in other threads, I don't think there is a sufficient excuse in those regards. I will disagree with the assertion that claiming does nothing. PCM can randomize the roles but the game still has to be balanced and there are certain roles that are more difficult to balance as anti-town or vice versa. It's time for Betiko to claim. I still believe Jak to be the should be lynch but I am fine with a betiko lynch at this point.

Lootifer wrote:- SW: lean scum (same justification as jmac and then launches into some mechanics speculation which is more of a distraction than useful - this confirmation bias makes me think his whole activity thing is simply to appear town, but as I say pure confirmation bias: i have neve played with SW so can someone who has played with him as town tell me if this kind of thing is typical?)

I usually comment on mechanics speculation when it comes up. Which it did just then. I don't really see how it can be argued as being a distraction as I haven't spent endless posts talking about it. As far as the Jak case, I've been on him for a decent bit of day 1 as well it hasn't just been day 2. Frankly, he should be killed off. If it was any other scenario he probably would have been lynched. He's been OMGusing like his life depends on it. He has twisted words around, he has ignored a good amount of the arguments against him. What other player have we ever given this much leeway on scummy behavior?

FP x4: That's what I get for taking 30 minutes on this post. NVM on Anarkist not posting. He just did.

Interesting Betiko, you're dead set on me being mafia, but yet in this SAME post you say you're willing to lynch Betiko.

Unvote, Vote Strike Wolf

Here's why. He claims he believes me to be mafia, but yet, if asked he does not CARE if it's I who dies or Betiko who dies. A townie would care and you being so dead set on me being mafia, you shouldn't even be considering to vote Betiko.

What that tells me is either you don't believe I'm scum (whether you are or not, no one can really say), or you obviously don't want me dead bad enough. Either one, with your confidence level of me flipping mafia if I am lynched, it's odd that you'd be willing to go away from that lynch.

What I call this behaviour is flip-flopping. Scum doesn't know/care who dies because as long as it's not mafia, it furthers your goal. So they are willing to flip-flop their vote without much of a second thought.

If I live until tomorrow I'll probably revisit the case I had on Nebuch if nothing else comes along, but you came along today with this post just towards the end of the day. I believe you mentioned it before but I brushed it off, now with (potentially) two townies on the chopping block (also another one might die from that bloody horse game) why wouldn't you care. Why are you willing to kill either of us if you believe only one of us is 100% scum in your eyes.

I'm not even twisting your words. You said you believe me scum. You said you're willing to lynch Betiko (mostly because he's inactive). But you don't scum read Betiko, thus willing to kill him at all over me (your scum read) is not very townie like.

I love how you use OMGUS again though. It's like you never get tired of that word. You will probably say I'm OMGUS'ing again and completely avoid what I am saying about you (and others will ignore it as well I can imagine). But if that's the case I should vote everyone every game at the start of the day and by your standards whether they bring up a case or not no matter how crumby it's auto OMGUS voting.

he has ignored a good amount of the arguments against him.

This is what I get the biggest kick out of. I said in my post before last one that people are not really bringing up arguments against me. It's more accusations that cannot be answered such as "Horrible town play if he's town" and the likes.

Nebuchadnezer wrote:Jak. Please stop talking. You regurgitate the same argument over and over. It gets old.

Here is the post I was looking for (for a few mins while writing this). I wish I could stop talking, but I'm on the chopping block and it's obvious I need to repeat myself to get it through to people. Even with all my talking and explaining things the best I can I am accused of "ignored a good amount of arguments against him" when that is a blatant lie. There is no argument, just statements made by people.

FP'd by Lootifer.

Thanks for reminding me, Tails has not been around for about 36 hours. Although his posts even back when he was posting tended to be about 1-3 sentences long.

See twisting words. "I still believe Jak to be one the should be lynch but I am fine with a betiko lynch at this point." I clearly still favor you for the lynch and my vote is still on you. I stated I don't really care about Betiko earlier before he started posting and that was mostly true. At best he was a townie that wasn't playing which I don't really have sympathy for but I felt he was more likely third party. Since then, well he isn't really acting very town like with his last few posts. You on the other hand, I have actively petitioned for. There's your difference. I can live with a Betiko lynch. I'd prefer it to be you. If I could lynch you by myself, you'd have been dead days ago. At least betiko is an alternative I can live with.

What that tells me is either you don't believe I'm scum (whether you are or not, no one can really say), or you obviously don't want me dead bad enough. Either one, with your confidence level of me flipping mafia if I am lynched, it's odd that you'd be willing to go away from that lynch.

My vote has been on you all day 2. I made my intent clearly aimed at the end of day 1. I STILL FAVOR YOUR LYNCH OVER BETIKO'S. That's not flip flopping.

I'll at least admit it is is kind of impressive how far off you can get from just twisting a few words around. I never said 100%. So please stop while your 20 feet under ground. I believe you are scum. That's not saying 100%.

I'm not even twisting your words. You said you believe me scum. You said you're willing to lynch Betiko (mostly because he's inactive). But you don't scum read Betiko, thus willing to kill him at all over me (your scum read) is not very townie like.

Being okay if he does get lynched is a far cry from calling him equally likely.

I will because you are. You twist words and then you OMGus. It's like it's your favorite tool in your tool box but you know just because that gator wrench can do a lot doesn't mean it's designed for the task you are working on.

he has ignored a good amount of the arguments against him.

This is what I get the biggest kick out of. I said in my post before last one that people are not really bringing up arguments against me. It's more accusations that cannot be answered such as "Horrible town play if he's town" and the likes.

This is the first time you have actually addressed the twisting words argument and all you do is deny it. You haven't addressed various misunderstandings of posts but then again, that's probably more where you're just twisting words.

Rodion has made only two posts (both within an hour of each other on Monday) since my last activity check on him Saturday morning, 5/17.

He's got 4 D2 posts:
  • Fri May 16, 2014 6:21 pm - Voted Jak
  • Fri May 16, 2014 6:22 pm - "Also, to whomever asked, it's empowerer, not emperor."
  • Mon May 19, 2014 5:24 pm - Clarified his Jak vote was based on scum read & reported on edoc's activity.
  • Mon May 19, 2014 6:01 pm - Posted link to an "interesting read" on Jak
Basically, he's posted during two sittings for D2: Friday evening and Monday evening.

Got up to jaks case on Neb, but need my brain to work so I can digest it properly, and brain stopped working a while ago...

Hopefully that pesky ticking sound doesn't strike in the night

Interesting Betiko, you're dead set on me being mafia, but yet in this SAME post you say you're willing to lynch Betiko.

Unvote, Vote Strike Wolf

Unvote vote jak. You do understand why I am voting for you correct? This sort of thing is ridiculous.

I'm not sure if that will count Edoc...not bolded. I'd like to get Betiko and jak in a runoff. Not because I really want to lynch either one, but because I don't think Betiko is serious about this game, yet, and it would give him another chance to claim and convince us NOT to lynch him. So, if Edoc's vote counts, we're in a runoff. I'll wait for a vote count.

Jak. Stop talking. Your cases are crap. You've been flailing like a bull in a china shop. Nobody is really giving any credence to anything you are saying or posting because it all reeks of desperation and screams, "Hey everybody, I'm scummy!" Sometimes, less is more.

Pending night results, I think tomorrow we have to look at our horse participants or at least come up with some way to get better information. Right now, we are risking losing another player without gaining any info. The virus kill was luck. I don't think we'll get lucky again. The other option would be to look at the NON-participants to try and figure out who this horse leader is. That's all I have time for right now...

Edoc had been voting for betiko... so if his vote counts, then jak will be lynched (jak is up 6 votes to 5 after that switch)
